CONSIDERATION OF A REQUEST FROM NEVADA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH THAT THE DISTRICT PAY THEIR ENFORCEMENT
COSTS RELATING TO ASBESTOS MATERIAL ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE
The Nevada County Department of Environmental Health is attempting to recover
$495.84 from the PUD for its costs resulting from enforcement services involving
hazardous materials (asbestos) encountered by the District on Riverside Drive while
excavating during the Downtown Pipeline Project last summer.
The District is not the generator of the asbestos material, but it did dispose of the material
in full compliance with applicable public health regulations as a public service to the
community.
Director Sutton moved that Counsel be authorized to draft a letter to the Nevada County
Department of Environmental Health indicating that the District doesn't believe the
• $495.84 charge is appropriate since the hazardous material was not generated by the
District but was found in the public right of way, seconded by Director Jones. All
Directors, aye, by voice vote. SO MOVED.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES OF MARCH 21, 1994
Director Jones moved, and Director Corbett seconded, that the minutes of March 21,
1994 be approved as presented. ROLL CALL: Corbett, Jones and Aguera, aye; Sutton,
no; Maass, absent. SO MOVED.
CORRESPONDENCE
Letter from Steve Randall, Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District, dated
March 24, 1994
The Recreation and Park District is attempting to locate sites suitable for development
as playing fields. One of particular interest to TDR&PD, owned by the PUD, is located
across from Truckee Regional Park on Highway 267 (Southside).
There was discussion regarding the Southside property, a wetlands area probably not
suitable for development. After some consideration, direction was given to the Manager
to respond to the Recreation & Park District noting TDPUD concerns about development
• of the Southside property and indicating that staff will check into other parcels that may
be available and more appropriate

. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL OF BILLS
After consideration, Director Sutton moved that the bills presented for consideration be
approved for payment after deleting $4,708 for personnel matters from the Porter Simon
bill; seconded by Director Jones. All Directors, aye, by voice vote. SO MOVED.

Complete copies of the Monthly Departmental Operations Reports and General Manager's
Report are attached hereto for reference.
The reports were reviewed and several questions were answered.
Staff is to provide a memo to the Board describing the requirements made by the Nevada
County Environmental Health Department (mentioned in the Water Operations and
Support Services Department reports).
