The special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District was called to order by President Maass at
7 : 30 P.M. in the TDPUD Board Room.
ROLL CALL: Directors John Corbett, Richard Curran, Pat Sutton and
Jim Maass were present.
EMPLOYEES PRESENT: Peter L. Holzmeister.
OTHERS PRESENT: Brian Smart, Ralph W. Norris, Michael Mohr from
the Truckee Sanitary District; Hank Schwarz ; Tess Dennis,
Assemblyman Chandler's office; Margarita de Nevarez, Nevada County
Administrative Services; Frieda Miller, Community Care; Supervisor
G. B. Tucker; Dennis Cassella, Nevada County Emergency Services;
Jack Bayer, Nevada County Sheriff' s Office; Tom Nielsen, Tahoe
Forest Hospital ; Joe Straub and Bob Tilton, Truckee Fire Protection
District; Mike Posten, Pacific Bell ; Wes Zachary and Chuck
Whitmarsh, Nevada County Department of Transportation; Tony Hesch,

. California Highway Patrol and Herb Weisbrot.
DISCUSSION WITH OTHER SPECIAL DISTRICTS, CALTRANS CHP, NEVADA
COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATIVES, ETC. OF
THE GRIDLOCK PROBLEM HAMPERING THE PROVISION OF EMERGENCY SERVICES
The problem of congested traffic hampering the provision of
emergency services was defined, and the representatives discussed
the affects on their agency or district. The public was given the
opportunity to comment and ask questions, then suggestions were
made as to what steps to take next. (A copy of the affects,
comments, questions and next steps has been attached to these
minutes for reference. )
Under Chairman Maass' direction, it was decided that a list of the
points brought up would be mailed to all participants for
prioritizing. Another meeting will be scheduled in about a month
to discuss the priority items and possibly to set up committees to
follow through on the matters.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9: 30 P.M.
