September 27, 1999
The special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District was
called to order at 4:04 PM in the TDPUD Board Room by President Jones.
ROLL CALL: Directors Joe Aguera, Bob Jones, Ron Hemig, James Maass were present. Director
Patricia Sutton was expected.
EMPLOYEES PRESENT: Alan Harry, Steve Hollabaugh, Peter Holzmeister, Neil Kaufman, Bob
Quinn, and Ed Taylor.
CONSULTANTS PRESENT: There were no consultants present.
OTHERS PRESENT: There were no others present in the audience.
PUBLIC INPUT
There was no public input.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TOWN OF
TRUCKEE AND/OR FIBER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FIBER
OPTIC CONDUITS
Staff advised that the District and Fiber Communications have completed preparation of an
agreement which will provide the District with sole ownership of two 2" conduits installed within the
Williams Communication cross-country fiber optic project from the Town limits on Glenshire Drive
following Donner Pass Road to the Town limits on Old Highway 40 and the installation of District
electrical conduit where appropriate in the same trench. In exchange for this, staff is recommending
that the District expend $123,408.04 for the project's encroachment permit.
After discussion and questions, Director Maass moved that the Board approve the construction
agreement between the District and FiberCom and authorize payment in the amount of$123,408.04
for the project's encroachment permit. The motion was seconded by Director Hemig. ROLL CALL:
all Directors, aye, with the exception of Director Sutton, who voted no.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 5:06 PM.
