HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-04-06 Min - BoardTruckee, California April 6, 1948 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St. Truckee at 8 P M. , C E Smith, president, presiding, Upon roll.. call the following members were noted nresent : E L Loynd B W Reynolds C E Smith The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following bills were read and on motion made and carried were ordered paid: A Cabona- prem on Kamp bond 5.00 Peavine Trans Co- drayage 7.73 Truckee Merc. Co.- supplies 4*34 Sierra Pacific Pw Co- Mch Ser. 1696.67 Truckee -Tahoe Lbr. Co- su pp 15.09 Truckee Chamber of Commerce donation 3 00.00 Chas. Harvey- labor 10.00 From the Water Fund: Stone Gar- welding 2.00 P. W. Reynolds, having been appointed at the last meeting e to serve. as director for the unexpired term of A. Pace who had resigned and Reynolds being present at the meeting, Chairman Smith declared E.W. Reynolds a duly appointed member of the Board. Considerable discussion took place relative to the curtailment in ser- vice ordered by the State Public utilities Commission, and Manager Edmunds reported that there had been a general 12% curtailment in the use of electricity during March over the month of February but that, the usage was stir.. 3 6 over correspond iag month of 1947. He reported that pink slips had been attached to approximately 80 bills warning our customers that they had not complied with the necessary 20$ reduction ordered by the CommisMon. Manager Edmunds reported that he was gather- ing figures on the cost of installing and operating a diesel generating plant of sufficient capacity to take a 20 % Load off the Sierra Pacific Pw Co. lines to the District. He further submitted a proposed plan where- by it would be possible to finance such a plant if sufficient businessmen would agree to advance the cost, the same to be applied as advance payment on their bills. No action was taken pending further information from the Commission relative to the time which the present curtailment right cover and also further information relative to cost of installation and oper- ation of a diesel plant .
