The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main
St. Truckee at 8 P M, C E Smith, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following members were noted present

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following bills were read and on motion made and carried were
ordered paid

Manager Edmunds reported that he had been notified by Mrs. A B Polyanich
that she would not consider signing a lease for the office building.
The annual audit of the books of the District for the year 1947 made
by Harry M. Straine and Sons of Sacramento, was presented to the Board
and after perusal by the Board members necessary advertising of the
same in the Sierra Sun was authorized and the reports were =`' motiofi bed
and carried accepted and ordered filed.
The reports for the Electric and Water Depts for the month of March
were submitted by auditor White and after perusal I:y the Board members
was ordered filed*
Manager Edmunds submitted propositions from the Fairbanks Morse Co. and
th*e Enterprise Engine Co. for a Diesel Power unit but in view of the
curtailment of power being lifted the Board ordered the propositions
filed.
Manager Edmunds reported that he had received notice from Supt. Gaiennie
of the Sierra Pacific Power Co. Monday afternoon that the curtailment of
power had been called off by the Utilities Commission Coordinator, but
that no official notification had been received from the Commission
direct, relative to the same.
Manager Edmunds read copies of a number of letters under date of Feb 19
March 13, and April 8th that he had written to aka G A Baxter, Pres of
the Calif. Municipal Utilities Asso. relative to having Public Agencies
recognized by the Commission as independent bodies capable of regulating
their own affairs. He further emphasized the leading position that this
Utility District held in the eyes of the public of the State, and hoped
that we would continue to hold this position in th eyears to come by
maintaining an aggressive attitude in public utility affairs.
Some discussion took place relative to changing the meetings of the Dir-
ectors to two regular meetings a month and it was moved and carried that
hereafter the Directors would meet regularly on the second and last
Tuesday of each month and that the chairman be authorized to sign all
labor checks in the interim between regular meetings.
