~ Mr. & Tars. Dave Rose and Dr. L. Nelson'.-,.pppeared before the Board to
complain about the lack of water during' he past two weeks due to frozen
pipes and a temporary water shortage, Considerable discussion took place
relative to the general operations of the Districts water system and it
was explained by the directors that everything possible was being done to
maintain service under the extreme cold conditions prevailing. It was
explained that the temporary water shortage was occasioned by the. ,.tre-
mendous drain on the water system caused by so many of the custome'rSS .
allowing their taps to run throughout the night to prevent freezing and
that the District-, had no recourse by law to prevent this. It was further
explained that the District 74at_Ld-oing everything within its financial
means to reconstruct the system so as to assure at all times an ample
supply of water. Due to a lacy of funds it was explained that it may
take a year or more to fully remedy thbr' situation.
Manager Edmunds reported that the total receipts for garbage for the
month of January, according to the billing made would probably be in
the neighborhood of $570.00. He stated that it appeared from the records
that the resident customers were paying more than the bu.4 ness customers
in proportion to the service that was being rendered, but that this
could not be fully determined for another month or two,
No further 1.usi mess apnearing ,
Ex-oTf i c ion Secretary
