March 29, 1949
The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on
Main St., Truckee at $ P M., C E Smith, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present

The following communications were read:
From Truckee Volunteer Fire Dept under date of March 14, relative
to draining fire line across Trout Creek fridge- referred to manager.
� From Division of Highways under date of March 16, relative to
� moving Districts facilities on proposed new highwa v at east end of town,
referred to manager.
Two conies of a right of way by the Sierra PaciOfic Power Co. across
a corner of Section 9 T17N R16E were presented to the Board and it was
moved and carried that the president of the Board and the acting secre-
tary,Edmunds be authorized to sign the right of way on behalf of the
District.
Manager Edmunds retorted that the nomination papers of Charles R.
Heller for the office of Director at the General Election to be held on
May 3rd had been received and verified by him as clerk of the District.
Manager Edmunds submitted revised garbage rates which he suggested
be put into force on May 1st. After perusal of the same by Board members
they were laid over for further consideration.

In the matter of appointing election officials for the
General Election of May 3rd, after some discussion the appointments �
were left up to the manager.
Further discussion took place relative to the hiring of an
engineer to plan for new water works but the matter was laid over for
further discussion.
Manager Edmunds reported that he had visited Attorney
Chamberlain in Auburn and that the Pape rs relative to the proposed
annexation of the Donner Lake territory would be received shortly.
Manager Edmunds reported that he had attended a meeting of the
Californi Municipal Utilites Asso. in Sacramento at which time various
bills introduced into the Legislature affecting this District had been
discussed and action for or against the bills had been authorized by
the Association. He spoke of the need fora entire revision
of the Utility District Act which we are. now operating under, and �
stated that a number of the bills before the Legislature read been
introduced by interests opposed to the Utility Districts and
if passed would ma1'-e it much. harder for our Districts to operate.
Manager Edmunds reported that the firm of Harry M Straine
& Sons had audited the books of the District on March 26 and 27 and
they had stated that their report would be submitted shortly.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
