The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in regular meeting at the office of t '�e District on
Main St., Truckee at 8 P M. , C E Smith, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

The minutes of the meetings of April 26th and May 9th were read
and approved.

President Smith announced that this meeting was call ed for the special
purposb of hearing the petition on the proposed annexation of lands
to the District in and about Donner Lake. There were present for this
�- f
meeting the following - L. G. Nisbet , represent ing the Donner Lake Co. ,
E. DeChoudens and Roy Stallard rroperty owners.
A letter was read under date of May 7th from Mr. Tuft, represei,ting
the Fiberlloard Products Inc. asking for information about the operations
of the District. Manager Edmunds reported that he had contacted Mr. Tuft
by telephone and gave him the i ! format ion reouest ed . This was followed
by a telegram dated May 16th stating the objections of the Fiberboard
Products Inc, to the inclusion of certain sections of forest land within
the proposed territory to be annexed. Mr. Nisbet outlined the plans of
the Donner Lake Co. for the sale of their lands around the lake and the
subdivisions they proposed to put on the market. He stated that there
would be in the neighborhood of 2000 lots sold and that a number of
tr,ose already sold would be built upon in the near future. He also
stated that it was imperative to get water to the several subdivisions
at an early date so that building operations could be undertaken. Both
Mr. DeChoudens and Mr. Stallard stated that they favored the annexation
of the territory and the development of the utilities therein by the
District.
In discussing the area within the proposed boundaries the Board was
unanimous in their opinion that all this territory should be willing
to bear its just share of the cost of development. A motion was made
and carried that all of the territory proposed in the petition be included
in the annexation proceedings. The attached Resolution No. 4919 was read
and on motion made and seco,,ided was unanimously car. �-ied. Manager Edmunds
was instructed to get in touch with Attorney Chamterlain for information
as to the next step in these proceedings.
President Smith announced that Chas. R. Heller the newly
elected 'Director who was~ to replace him on -the Board being
present, the next order of business would be the reorganiza-
tion of the Board by the election of a new president. A
motion was made and carried that E L Loynd be elected to pre-
side over the Board of Directors. President Loynd then took
charge of the meeting. Directors Loynd, Reynolds and Ik1ler
expressed their regrets to Director Smith at his retiring
from active participation in the affairs of the District, and
a motion was made and carried that a resolution (attached)be
spread upon the minutes of this m eting expressing the thanks
of the District for the long and faithful service rendered to
the District by Mr. Smith and the hope that he would continue
to enjoy good health and to continue to keep his interest in
the Districts welfare.
The following communications were read:
From Mr. F. A. Tracy, President of the Sierra Pacific Power
Co., under date of May 10, setting forth their reasons why a
reduction in the P-b Schedule of rates to the District could
not be lowered. Referred to the Manager for further action,

of May 12, relative to an appointment with the Board. A
motion was made and carried that an appointment tie made with
Macabee with the members of the Board for Friday, May 27th
at 10 #30 A M and the manager was instructed to notify ?fir. Macabee.
From H.A.L. Jones, under date of May bth, relative to
testing the electric meters of the District. A motion was made
and carried that the Manager instruct Mr. Jones that the District
would like to have him undertake the testing of our meters this
summer.
Director Loynd brought up the matter of furnishing the trustees
of the Truckee -Tahoe Unified School District the copy of the
topographical map of Meadow Lake Park. It was moved and
carried that the map be turned over to the Trustees with in-
structions that they protect the same by having it sent by
registered mail if necessary to send the same out of town.
Manager Edmunds voiced his disapproval of the use of the park
area for the building of a s6h661 thereon.
Manager Edmunds recommended that the salar of foreman Steve
Kolos be raised from $300-00 per month to 1325&00# A motion was
made and carried that the salary of Steve Kolos be set at $325.00
per month beginning June 1, 1949.
