Copy of a letter to the Truckee Fire Commission, dated July 2 5th , was read and ordered filed The matter of acquiring the Truckee water system owned by Elden Toni.ni was discussed in connection with a proposed bond issue, and. it was moved and carried that a written request be sent Mr. Ton in i asking if he desired to sell his sytem and the price thereof. The Manager reported that tale bill of L Cedric Macabee for his pre- liminary report on the Donner Lake water works in th amount of $1200. which was past due had been sent to the Donner Lake Co.- office Jn Reno 5 • H . with a request that the same be paid. No acknowledgement had - - - been received. , In connection with proposed improvement to the Truckee and Gateway water system and the proposed water works at Donner Lake, the attached resolution wa-s .introduced and a motion made arid. carried that the resolution as read be adopted, and a certified copy of the same, together with the application for a permit to use and construct the water works as out- lined be sent to the Board of Public Health. Manager Edmunds reported that a sale of a portion of the property now owned by the District along the Donner road was being negotiated with Mrs. Janet E. Leary of Grass Valley ; for the sum of b 000*000 :a A letter was read from T L Chamber lain under date of July 20, relative to a proposed franchise for a gas system requested by F. Mile-s Horne.
