The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility,
District met in regular meeting at the office of
the District on Main
St., Truckee at 2:30 P M., E L Loyhd, president,
presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

The minutes of the meeting of July 25th were read
and approved.

Manager Edmunds reported that a parcel of land along Donner Road had been
sold to Janet Leary for the sum of $6000.00, $5000.00 being paid in cash
and the balance of $1000.00 to Ce raid within two years.
He also reported that it was necessary for the District to pay an addition-
al $500. to the bank to cover the payment due on the water loan.
Copies of the report of the audit of the books made by Harry M Straine and
Sons were presented to the Board members for their perusal, and Manager
Edmunds reported that a copy had been given to the Sierra Sun with in-
structions to have the cash receipts and dishursements for the Electric,
tilater and Garbage Dept printed in the paper as required by law.
The 1-Tanager reported that in accordance with the instructions of the
auditors tree..Bank of America had deposited with the Central Bank Trust Dept
in Oakland, 415,000.00 in bonds as security for the deposit of the
District and that the agreement covering the same had been sent to Attorney
Chamberlain for his approval.
The Board was advised that in accordance with instructions from the last
Board meeting a letter had been sent to E Tonini, owner of the Truckee
Water System, asking for his conditions of the sale of that System to the
District. The 1-,iananger reported that TPIr. Tonini had contacted him and
advised that he felt he should receive what he had paid for it, the sum of
�15, 000.00 which he believed should be raid. in mone71- equivalent to the 1946
value.

The Manager reported that no" ah8werchddl been received from. the
Truckee Fire Commissioners retarding an inquiry in the fire
rates now paid by the dire District.
Letters under date of July 24th and August lath from the District
to the Bureau of Reclamation and from Congressman C. Engle a`rid
the Bureau of Reclamation were read, regardi- g stl.idies now being
made by the Bureau on the Truckee River. Same were ordered
filed.
Chairman Loynd instrlacted the Manager to advise Surt. O'Rourke
of the Tahoe-True-ee School District tr,at tr is District would 6G
interested in I idling on the services for the new nigh school.
A letter was read under date of July 24tr from T L Chamberlain
regarding the bond issue proposed r- the District. Filed.
The Manager reported that according to a letter from CountTT
Assessor Scadden, under date of July 27th the total assessed
valuation within the present District boundaries is $11.Y024, 85O,a00.
The value of con -,olidating the Fire and "Sanitary Districts
with our Utility District was explained by the manager, who
pointed out that with the high assessed valuation within the
District boundaries a much lower tax rate should be possible
for the services now being rendered by these other Districts.
The Manager reported that new substation cables had been installed
and that the primary circuit of the District had been enlarged
from the substation to the location of the Truckee Lumber mill.
