A communication was read from attorney Chamberlain, under date of
November 30, relative to the District's policy in extending water
mains into new subdivisions and a letter dated Dec 6th from
Manager Edmunds in answer to same and more fully explaining the
Districts policy in new subdivisions and to individual owners.
Also letter from Attorney Chamberlain under date of Dec 10, acknowledg-
ing receipt of same and advising that a further reply would be given
as soon as manager Edmunds letter could be studied.
The Board did not endorse the proposition set forth in Manager
Edmunds letter, but decided to wait further word from Attorney
Chamberlain before making a decision.
Manager Edmunds informed the Board of the growth in the use and
purchase of our power from the Sierra Padific Power Co., and
gave figures comparing the consumption, peak load and cost
between the months of October and November 1951 and the same months
in 1950.
Director Heller stated that Joe Matt,os had informed him that a
delegation was to appear before the Board at this .meeting protesting
against the power failures which have occured along west Main St.
Nobody appearing, however, Manager Edmunds outlined to the Foard
some proposed work which was to be undertaken in the near future
to correct this condition and also some other weak spots in our
system and stated that the difficulty in getting materials at this
time as well as the financial condition of the District had delayed
this necessary work, but informed Director Heller that he could
assure Mr. Niattos that this particular trouble should be remedied
before the end of this month.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned,
