The members of the Board of Directors of he Truckee Public Utility
District met in regular meeting at the of ice of the District, on
Main St., at 2:30 p m., E L Loynd, presid t, presiding,

Upon roll call the following directors we're noted present:

The minutes of the meeting of July $th were read and approved.
H. E. Rhud, Materials Engineer, and M, G, Polk, Right of Way Agt.,
for the Division of Highways, appeared before the Board and pre-
sented a draft of an agreement for a grant -of -right to take borrow
for highway purposes for earth, sand and gravel from a portion of
the SW 4 of the SW4 of Section 17 of our Meadow Lake Park area.
Discussion was had relative to the amount that was to be borrowed
and the length of time, together with the possibility of buying
this quarter section, The Board objected to the wording of the
agreement, and Mr. Polk agreed to re -write the agreement along the
lines discussed, submit the same to attorney T. L. Chamberlain and
then re -submit it to the Board for their further consideration.

Manager Edmunds reported that R N Little had called at the
office and stated that his Insurance Co. were not interested
in writing an overall coverage for the Districts operations
and had suggested to him that the matter should be referred to
Lloyds of London. The Manager reported that he would endeavor
to find out what some of the other smaller cities in the state
were doing relative to their coverage.
The Manager reported that the auditors had completed their
audit of the District's books for the fiscal year ending June 30,
1952 and that their report should be available within the next
10 days.
The Manager reported that no word had yet been received from the
Truckee Fire Commission regarding the relocation of the fire
hydrant on the south side of the river and that at the present
time there is no hydrant connected up in that locality.
A communication was read under date of July llth from T L Chamberlain
relative to the recording of the agreement covering the encroach-
ment by R. Joseph on the District's pipe line right of way at
Gateway. Also a copy of the agreement as recorded.
A communication was read under date of July 16th from Paul H.
Chamberlain relative to the lease of the new office building
also letters dated July 22 from Paul H. Chamberlain to Stanley
W. Reckers, Att. for Mrs. V. Russi, relative to the same and a
letter dated July 28 to the District from Paul H. Chamberlain
covering the same question.
The Manager outlined a copy of a circular letter under date of
July loth from Paul H, Chamberlain covering the procedure to
be followed by Utility Districts desiring to levy a tax for the
current year. The letter was ordered filed,
A letter was read under date of July 23 from H A McLoughlin
realestate broker of Marysville, relative to tl-.e Meadow Lake Park
property, together with an answer to the same under date of July
24th, setting forth proposed terms that might be considered by
the District. Communicetions filed.
A communication was read under date of July llth , from L.O.B.
Lindstrom, Consulting Electrical Engineer of San Francisco,
relative to the conclusions arrived at by him from a survey
of the Districts transmission lines, serving the Stockton Box Co.
The Manager stated that as a rough estimate the cost of stringing
in an additional copper line to supplement the present one would
cost the District in the neighborhood of $2500. He stated that
the material necessary to carry out this work had been ordered but
that the copper wire may be hard to get for several weeks,
The Manager reported that Foreman Patterson had asked the Board
for their consideration of a raise in salary. It was moved and
carried that Patterson's salary be increased to $400, per month,
starting the August 1st.
A communication under date of July 28 from Paul H. Chamberlain
stated that he was awaiting word from the District relative to
certain equipment that might be attached to satisfy the Districts
bill against Ferguson Bros. The Manager reported that he had not
been able to get any information as yet on the title to Ferguson
Bros, equipment.
A letter was read under date of July 23 from the Inter -County Title
Co. relative to a deed to Janet E. Leary, wherein she desired a
change in its wording to cover c ertlin water rights. This change
had been made in accordance with her wishes.
