The Manager reported that at the request of Mr. R. Joseph
that he had furnished a letter covering the terms and conditions
under which water would be furnished to Unit #2 of Gateway Park.
A copy of the letter dated Sept 5, addressed to the Division of
Real Estate was read and contents approved by the Board.
The Manager reported on the building of a curb in front of the
District's warehouse by the State, due to the building of a new
Quarantine Station and stated that there had been some misunder-
standing in installing this curbing as he had been promised that
it would not be installed if the District would cooperate in
moving their main water line along the highway out of the way of
....� drainage lines installed by the Otate. Since this understanding
was only verbal, no action could be taken, but he stated that in
the matter of moving two of our poles to permit the ".,uilding of
new Highway Garages on Burckhalter Ave. he was asking the State
for written instructions on the same, to eliminate further mis-
understanding as to the payment for the work to -e done.
An analysis of the water taken from the drinking fountain in the
lot by of the Tal_oe-Forest Hospital as made by Afflecks of Sacra-
mento was submitted to the Foard. This analvsi.s showed the
water to 'c e pure and free from coliform and to r e good drinking
water. The Manager reported that further samples would be sent
in from the high School, as well as from the pump house.
The Annual Audit report made by Harry M. Strai ne & Sons of
Sacramento of the District's finances for the year ending June 30,
1952 were submitted to the Board members and discussed at length.
The matter of financing the future operations of tre District
was discussed and iy:anager Edmunds reported that 'y.r. Flagg had not
been heard from but that there had been some individuals who had
indicated an interest in some of the lots that had been surveyed
in the section east of the High School, and across from the
new checking station. He stated that unless some party showed
an interest in the District's entire holdings in the very near
future, that he believed the District should start disposing of
,p--smaller parcels so as to bring in some money to help in financing
the District. No action was taken by the Board.
A coriimunication was read under date of September 8th from Mr. Paul
H. Chamberlain relative to the lease to our new office quarters
in which he sia.ggest ed a slight change in one of the paragrarhs per-
taining to repairs. It was moved and cap-ri ed that the lease be
approved with the amend.mer:t as suz Bested by IIr. Chamberlain,

The membersof the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in regular meeting at the office of the District, on V
Main St., at 2:30 p m., E L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

The minutes of the meeting of September 9th were read and approved.

Copies of the water analysis, taken from the High School
drinking fountain was submitted to the Board showing owing that
the samples showed no evidence of contamination.. Chairman
Loynd took a copy of the analysis to give to Sutp O'Rourke of
the School District. and also stated that he would notify the
"Sierra Sun"of the results of this test, together with the one
tecently taken from the Tahoe Forest Hospital drinking fountain
which showed like results, so that it could he published in that
paper. The analysis of the sample taken from the Gateway pump
house which showed signs of contamination, was also submitted,
and Manager Edmunds reported that in taking this matter up with
a representative of the State Board of Health at a recent meeting
of the Pollution Board in Susanville, he was advised that the
State Board of Health would send a representative here to assist
the District in attempting to clear up this contamination.
The Manager reported that the Gateway Pump had not been in use
for several weeks and that the Gateway System was being supplied
from the Mc Gla Shan Springs.

A communication was read from the Division of Highways under date
of September llth , advising that they were attaching thereto a fully
executed copy of the Forrovi �Igreement between the District and the
Highway Dept. The same was ordered filed.
Copies of Auditor ;%Ihite's report of the financial condition of the
Electric and Vaater Dept for., --the month of August were Presented to
t'l e Board and after perusal of the same were ordered tiled.
A communication under date of Sept 26 from T L Chamberlain addressed
to the Manager personally, with reference to a possil.-ae adjustment
in the retaining fee now paid by the District, was read to the 'L)oard,
together with an answer to the same under date of Sept 27, addressed
by the Manager to Attorney Chamberlain. No action was taken by the
Board.
A cony of a communication, dated Sent 9 from Frank E. Daly, Con-
struction Supervisor on the new Inspection Station on Highway 40
to R J Kennedv, his District Supervisor, was read, wherein he out-
lined the Districts charges for installation of a water meter
and the monthly charges thereon. Communication ordered filed.
A communication from the Dept of Public Works under date of Sept 8,
together with answer to the same under date of Sept 24t h outlining
the cost of relocating the District's lines to serve the proposed
new Highway Maintainence Station was read and ordered filed.
No further business appearing, Board ad;lourned.
