A communication was read from the Division of Highways under date
of September llth , advising that they were attaching thereto a fully
executed copy of the Forrovi �Igreement between the District and the
Highway Dept. The same was ordered filed.
Copies of Auditor ;%Ihite's report of the financial condition of the
Electric and Vaater Dept for., --the month of August were Presented to
t'l e Board and after perusal of the same were ordered tiled.
A communication under date of Sept 26 from T L Chamberlain addressed
to the Manager personally, with reference to a possil.-ae adjustment
in the retaining fee now paid by the District, was read to the 'L)oard,
together with an answer to the same under date of Sept 27, addressed
by the Manager to Attorney Chamberlain. No action was taken by the
Board.
A cony of a communication, dated Sent 9 from Frank E. Daly, Con-
struction Supervisor on the new Inspection Station on Highway 40
to R J Kennedv, his District Supervisor, was read, wherein he out-
lined the Districts charges for installation of a water meter
and the monthly charges thereon. Communication ordered filed.
A communication from the Dept of Public Works under date of Sept 8,
together with answer to the same under date of Sept 24t h outlining
the cost of relocating the District's lines to serve the proposed
new Highway Maintainence Station was read and ordered filed.
No further business appearing, Board ad;lourned.

Chairman Loynd stated that
G. E. Lewis of Donner Lake had requested consideration
by the Board of
the purchase of a part or the whole of our Meadow
Lake Park prop-
erty. He was advised that the District had
entered into an
agreement with the State 'iighway relative to
their borrowing
sand and gravel off a portion of Section 17
in the rear of the
Donner Memorial Park. after some discussion

The Board then considered the matter of t? e sale of the Yleadow

to Mr. Lewis was to 're �60,000.00 cash or the same price on terms
of �20,000.00 down and the balance to T>e paid in enual yearly terms

The following communications were read- from T. L. Clam( erla3.n under
date of Oct 3, addressed to C. Edmunds personal117 and another
communication under same date addressed to the District with
reference to an adjustment in the retainer agreement between the
District and �'r. Chamberlain. It was moved and carried that the
rates set forth by Mr. Chamberlain in his letter to the District,
dated Oct 3, 1952 were satisfactory to the Poard, and Manager
Edmunds was instructed to write 11r. Chamberlain and so advise him
and also instruct him that the Board appreciated his interest an,I
efforts in behalf of the District in the past, and hoped that his
Firm and the District would continue their pleasant relationship in
the future. The terms agreed to and approved by the Board and con-
tained in the above mentioned letter are as follows:
"That my office be retained at the rate of ";L�`75.00 per ronth,
payable monthly, effective November lst, 1952. This retainer would
entitle the District to six hours office time per month, for consul-
tations, correspondence, legal research and the Preparation of legal
instruments. This time would not be cumulative and we would be
under no obligation to allow credit in one month vrhen more than six
hours time was devoted to District matters, because in some previous
month six hours had not teen devoted to District matters; that the
rate for a trip to Truckee he increased to a per diem o_f. 75. plus
necessary travelling expenses and hotel bills, unless the trip was
for the purpose of appearing 1-efore some Board or Co►imission otter
than the Board of Directors of the District; that because of the
retainer, the per diem for Court arrearances or appearances ?�efore
Commissions would be $1000 per day rather than 1125. r.er dav, the

J. Ayarnicke of Donner Lake arreared before the Poard to ree-nest
permission to cut Christmas trees off of Section 8 owned by the
District. He presented copies of an agreement he had drawn up
and it was moved and carried by the Board that the agreement was
satisfactory and that a price of 7 . per tree be agreed upon with
a down payment of w100. P.-Ir. v"Jarnicke agreed to render a report on
the number of trees cut and to make payment accordingly, on or before
December 25.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Trucr ee Public Utility
District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on
Main St., at 2:30 p m., E L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

G i lbert Mulcahy, District Right of Way Agent and M: C Polk,
Right of Way agent for the Division of Highways, appeared k efore
tI e .Board and stated that t}ley came prepared to matte an offer
for the approximate 74 acres of land i.n the South of theolath
� of Sec 17, T 17 N, R 16 E, of the Districts Meadow Lake Park
property. They stated that they had received authorization from
their Department to purchase this property and were prepared to
offer the sum of '11, 740.00-for the same. The Board advised them
that they had already accepted a down payment of1000. on an offer
by G. E. Lewis to purchase all the District's holdings in Sec 17,
west of the new High School, for the sum of � 40, 000. and that the
deed conveying this property to Mr. Lewis was veld up pending
advice from the District's attorney, relative to certain restrictions
and reservations which the District proposed putting in the deed.
Mr. Mulcahey advised the Board th-Dt Isis Department intended to
obtain this property even if it was necessary to start condemnation
proceedings upon Mr. Lewis and the astrict. They left with Mr.
4ulcahey advising tale Board that the necessary condemnation papers
would be drawn up upon his return to Marysville.

relative to this property, under date of Jcto�_er 21 from the District
