Kaspian had spoken to him regarding an outstanding balance due to him from an advance made for electric service at the Truckee Mill. Manager Edmunds stated that there was an amount due Mr. Kaspian of some $236.00 payment of which had been held up pending the submission of a bill to Mr. Kaspian for work done by the District at the Mill and that he would endeavor to have th is bill made out as soon as possible. Director Langille reported that he was making a trip to Mexico and that he would be absent for the next 3 or 4 meetings. No further business appearing, Board adjourne . Acting -Secretary d nt Truckee, California January 13, 1953 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Pub l.ic Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St . , at 2 : 30 p m. , E L Loynd , president , presiding ' Upon roll call the following directors were noted T' esent : C R Heller E L Loynd H T Langille (absent -out of town) Also present was G E Lewis who advised the Board that he had made � no progress in obtaining the necessary funds to finance e the down payment on the property west of the High School.. A letter was - read under date of Dec 31 from Manager Edmunds to It torn ey T L Chamberlain in which was outlined the understanding arrived at between the District and Mr. Lewis at the Me eti ng on December 30. Also a communication from Mr. Chamberlain to the District, dated January 5th, acknowledging the previous letter , and a further communication from Mr. Chamberlain addressed to G E A-ewis and the District, out- lining further steps that he had taken relative to the State's con- demnation proceedings on a portion of this land. After some further discussion., It was agreed that the matter would be laid over to the Board s next meeting and Mr. Lewis stated that should the District obtain any other offtr to buy this property, that if he could not at thit time make the necessary financial arrangements according to his original offer, that he felt the District should feel free to accept another offer. The minutes of the meeting of December 30th were read and approved, W. Barnett, publisher of the Sierra Sun then entered the meeting. Chamberlain, under date of January 2, relative to the status of the Ferguson Eros. bill. Communication filed. A communication was read under date of Dec,,30, from T B T��addel,, of the Department of Public Works, relative to a preliminary report on the washoe Project as submitted by the Eureau of Reclamation, in a letter dated Dec 1$0 1952, enclosing a -copy of their Status report, and' asking for the District's comments. After a grief outline of the three plans submitted in this retort, Mgr. Edmunds stated that if there was no ob iection, he would recommend to t}� p Dera.rtment of Publi-c works that the District would favor"plan 2" which he felt would more nearly meet the future needs of the District and tY i s area. Manager Edmunds retorted Mr. L A Baysinger, Supt . of the Stockton Pox Co, s Truckee mill., had called at the office during the past week and had brought up the matter of a tie-in with the SPP Co. s Lake Tahoe line by the installation of a new substation to be located near their plant. He stated that representatives of the SPP Co. were pressing and suggest- ing such a tie-in and wanted to '°now what the District would do to bring about such a connection. The Manager suggested to the Directors that a very careful engineering and economic study should k;e made be.for e the District should commit themselves to any large expenditure of money, which would be necessary to bring about such a connection. Mr. Faysinger had stated that he might possibly appear before the directors at their meeting on January 27th , relative to th i s matter. No action was taken. The . Manager reported that Crandall Bros. had advised him that they were contemplating adding an additional 250 hp to their sawmill early this spring. No further business appearing, Board adiourned.
