A communication was read from Paul H. Chamberlain,
under date of January
2, relative to the status
of the Ferguson Eros. bill. Communication
filed.
A communication was read under date of Dec,,30, from T B Taddel,, of
the Department of Public Works, relative to a preliminary report
on the washoe Project as submitted by the Eureau of Reclamation, in
a letter dated Dec 1$0 1952, enclosing a -copy of their Status report,
and' asking for the District's comments. After a grief outline of
the three plans submitted in this retort, Mgr. Edmunds stated that
if there was no ob iection, he would recommend to t} p Dera.rtment of
Publi-c works that the District would favor"plan 2" which he felt would
more nearly meet the future needs of the District and tY i s area.
Manager Edmunds retorted Mr. L A Baysinger, Supt . of the Stockton Pox Co, s
Truckee mill., had called at the office during the past week and had
brought up the matter of a tie-in with the SPP Co. s Lake Tahoe line
by the installation of a new substation to be located near their plant.
He stated that representatives of the SPP Co. were pressing and suggest-
ing such a tie-in and wanted to '°now what the District would do to bring
about such a connection. The Manager suggested to the Directors that
a very careful engineering and economic study should k;e made be.for e the
District should commit themselves to any large expenditure of money,
which would be necessary to bring about such a connection. Mr.
Faysinger had stated that he might possibly appear before the directors
at their meeting on January 27th , relative to th i s matter. No action
was taken.
The . Manager reported that Crandall Bros. had advised him that they were
contemplating adding an additional 250 hp to their sawmill early this
spring.
No further business appearing, Board adiourned.
