HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-04-27 Min - BoardThe Manager reported that the election notice for the coming General Election on May 5th had been given to the Sierra Sun for publication during the next 2 issues and also that notices had been posted as required by law. A letter was read under date of March 25th from the California Municipal Utilities Asso. , advising the District to make appli- cation for the reservation of a radio channel at an early date. It was moved and carried that the Manager be authorized to make application for the reservation of a high frequency channel for the District. The reports of Auditor 7-,".ite covering the Electric and `eater Systems for the month of March were submitted to the Eoard and after perusal of the same were ordered filed. No further business appearing, Eoard ad ourned. i�f-J ficio Secretary Truckee, 'Calif ornia April 27, 1953 Due to Chairman E L Loynd and Manager Edmunds being called on Grand Jury duty, the regular meeting scheduled for April 28th, was changed With the unanimous consent of the Directors to this- date. The Board then discussed the various bids for tanks which had been received and discussed the relative merits of the various types. Final decision was laid over until next meeting when the bid of G E Lewis could be further discussed with him. The Manager reported that he had G E Lewis preparing the site for the tank. May 12, 1953 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of -the District on Main St., at 2-: 30 p m. , E L Loynd, president, presiding. Upon roll call the following directors were noted present: C R Heller HT. Langille E L Loynd The minutes of the meeting of April 27th were read and approved, The Board proceeded to canvass the returns of the General Election held Tuesday, May 5th for one Director, with the following results: Total votes cast, 176. Votes received, Charles R. Heller 144. Richard Joseph, 31. James McIver, 1. Charles R. Heller having received the greatest number of votes, was declared reelected as a director of the Utility District for a term of four years. Acting -Clerk of the District, C. Edmunds, stated that Charles R. Heller had filed with him the regular form of the Oath of Office as Director of the District.
