The Manager reported that R. Joseph had made a verbal offer of
100.00 for the 40 acres owned by the District in Section 9.
The Board would not consider such an offer and the matter was
tabled.
A communication was read under date of May 8th from T L Chamberlain
asking for the copy of the borrow agreement between the Highway
Dept and the District for gravel off of the 73 acres in Sect ion
17, to be used in connection with the condemnation proceedings
between the State Highway-G E Lewis and the Truckee Public Utility
District. The Manager was authorized to forward the same to Mr.
Chamberlain.
A communication was read under date of May 5th, from G B Lewis,
submitting a new offer for a corrugated galvanized water tank,
The Board discussed the various offers from the several Comapnies
regarding the different types of tanks and it was roved and
carried that the District would install a 100,000 gallon Redwood
tank and the Manager was instructed to call for bids for this type
of tank. Bids to be opened on May 26th, The Manager was also
authorized to employ a surveyor to pick out a site for a tank
on the hill across from the high school.
The matter of the back bill of the Truckee Resort and the action of
R. 0. Gifford in using profane language in the office and in de-
libertly da�naging the new truck of the District, was discussed and
the Manager was instructed to have the truck rewired and the bill
for the same to be referred to I.O. Gifford of the Truckee Resort
for payment.

In discussing the matter of Muck insurance it was brought out
that the coverage for bodily injury was only 101000/20,000 dollars.
It was the unanimous opinion of the Board raeibers tr,a.t this should
be raised to 100,000/200,000 dollars and the manager was instructed
to have the policy chant; ed .
There being no bids received covering 1-100,000 gallon Redwood tank
as advertised in the Sierra Sun, Manager Edmunds reported that he
had r. ceived telephone calls from two firms stating that they were
putting in bids but that they wol)ld not arrive fn time for this meeting,
It was therefore moved and carried that the opening of the bids be laid
over until 2:30 p m Friday, ��a,r 29th.

The TJ anager reported that under date of Ylay 2 Wi he had forwarded to
Mr. I 0Gifford a bill amounting to $50.30 from Osburns Garage for
repairing our new truck which had been damaged in a colision with the
car of R 0 Gifford, his son. He also stated that he had received a
formfrom B E Whitby & Co. of Reno, Insurance adjusters, asking for
particulars of the damage,which had been returned to them.
A letter was read under date of May 22 from caul H, Chamberlain,
together with copies of an agreement which he had drawn up between
the Sierra Pacific Power Co and the District relative to a proposed
new service connection to serve the Stockton Pox Co. The agreement
was referred to the I-;'lanager to be submitted to the Sierra Pacific
Power Co.
Letters were read under dat ; of �11ay 15 th , Play 18th and May 21st
from T L Chamberlain, relative to the condemnation proceedings against
G E Lewis and the District by the State The letters were ordered
filed.
The lvianager r ec.ortod that Paul haunch was 9 months in arrears in the
payments on the dump body which he had purchased from the District.
He was instructed to advise Mr. Rausch that payment should be made
or that he should a; pear be.fc:.e the Board of Directors for an explanation.

in salary and after some discussion the manager was asked to submit
comparable wages as paid by the Sierra `acific Power Co. and others
in this locality. The Manager brought up the matter of a raise in

The monthly retorts of Auditor vflhit e for the Electric and ��Tat er system
for t1:e month of April were sutmitted to the Board m.emhers, and after
perusal by the same,were ordered filed,
The question of acquiring the Truckee `stater S-3y stem, owned by E. Ton-ini
was discussed and chairman Loynd stated that he would contact v:r. Tonini,
with reference to the poisible sale of the same to the District.

The i0ana ger brought ur the matter of an office bia_i ldi rg for
the District which could be jointly used by other Districts
as well as the County. He suggested the site on Spring St.
between upper and lower High Streets, which is owned by the
County. The Board authorized the lv!anager to see if this loca-
tion could be acquired.
The Mana -er stated that he Would like to attend tl,e conference of
the California Municipal utilities Association, which will be held
in San Francisco, statting Tuesc"ay, June 9th. This being the regular
rileeting date of the Board, it was moved and carried that the next
regular meeting should be held on lv onday, June Sth at 2 :30 p mi.
The Manager reported that sir. Baxter of tr e State Board of Pealth
had inspected our Gateway well and suggested that we chlorinate
this wel-. and then have sa nples taken and analyzed, as he could
see no reason from the location and .surroun.dings of this well
why there should be any contalmination from same. The 'Y-anager
-retorted that the well had been chlorinated and would be allowed
to stand for a few days and thoroughly pumped out and samples
sent to Sacramento for analysis.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in special meeting at the office of the District on
Vain St., at 2:30 p m. , E L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

The meeting having been called for the special purpose o _'opening
bids for 1 - 100,000 gal i on redwood tank, and th ere being two
bids received, the Board proceeded to open the same and found a
bid submitted by the G W Null Engineering 'Coo. of San Francisco.
for the total amount of .1163 88. 00.
Another bid was received from the Santa Fe Tankk and Tower Co. of
Los Angeles for a total bid of 5246.70 Plus taxes. After figuring
in California Sales Tax of�112.62 this brought this bid to a total
of 5359.32. Both bids were submitted to comply with specifications
drawn up by the District. MMWIII
The bid of the Santa Fe Tank & Tower Co. -being the lower of the
two bids received, it was moved and carried that this bid be
accepted and the firm be so notified.
No further business appearing, Eoard adjourned.
