August il, 1953 The members of� the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 2:30 p m. , E L Loynd, president, presiding. Upon roll call the following directors were noted present: Chas. R. Heller H T Langille E L Loynd The minutes of the meeting of July 28th were read and approved. The Manager -reported that the Coca-Cola Traveling Laboratory had reported to him on August 7th that they had found contamin- ation in the water at the Coca-Cola Bottling Works and after taking samples at the Shaffer Spring and tank, reported on the following day that . the tank showed signs of contamination. The tank was drained and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on tiugust loth and the Laboratory was to take samples and report the results on August 12th . The Manager reported that for the month of July the Tonini system showed a billing of 139 customers at $316.00. He stated that he had been advised by Mr. Chamberlain that this system had reported a gross of $3316.20 to the Utility Commission for the year 1952. The Manager reported that E. Tonfni had complained about the minimum charge of $2.00 being made for his individual apartments on Riverside Dr. and that he had been informed that that was the regular charge made for apartments made by the District. A communication was read under date of August 6th from Paul H. Chamberlain relative to an ordinance changing the hours of polling. The communication was ordered filed, A communication was read under date of August 4th from F A Tracy president of the Sierra Pacific Power Co. to the Public Utilities C _ omatission relative to the agreement providing the District with the second point of service. Communication was ordered filed. The Manager reported that the Stockton Box Co. was now working directly off the lines of the SPP Co. through a second point of service to the District, but it was reported to him that they were still experiencing plant trouble. The Manager submitted a Fire Protection Report of the Truckee Fire District as made by the Board of tire Underwriters and read that portion of the recommendations having to do with the water supply. Report was ordered filed, The Manager reported that he had received a request from Paul H. Chamberlain for a copy of the Rules and Regulations of our Water System and also a similar request from the California water Service of San Jose. He stated that the District was in need of a new set of rules and regulations pertaining to our water service,, as the ones now in effect were effective August 1943 • A committee from the Meadow Lake park Improvement Association which, according to the press was to have appeared before the Board, failed to show up.
