A special informal called meeting was held at 4 p m at the office
of the. District, Main St. , Truckee, and the following directors
were noted present:

C R Clark - J L Frank - J C Coughlan - G N Robinson
Also - V. Stoll - w Barrett- P. Zydner- E.Buehler - and
Manager Edmunds
Chairman Heller stated that the meeting had been called at the
request of the Board of Supervisors for the purpose of discuss -
in the road situation in the Meadow Lake Tract. Representatives

present of the Meadow Lake Improvement Association,P Zydner and
E. Buehler stated that the members of the Association were in
favor of setting up an Improvement District to cover the cost
of placing the roads in condition for County acceptance, District
Attorney V. Stoll questioned whether there was sufficient assessed
valuation to cover the cost of the work which Supervisor Loehr
estimated would - amount to approximately $6000.
Supervisor Loehr stated that the. mediate need *an for some
method of financing snow removal during the comming winter on
the road now being used. It was agreed that it would be necessary
for the inhabitants of the Meadow Lake Tract to raise the sum of
$500. by voluntary subscriptions and pay the same into the County
Treasurer and that the County would remove the snow when called
upon by a designated representative from the tract and charge
a stipulated sum yet to be decided for the equipment by the hour
and that when the cost of snow removal reached the sure advanced
that an additional sure would have to be provided if further
snow removal was to be undertaken by the County. The question
of getting the roads built to County standard was laid over for
further study and consideration.
Manager Edmunds brought up the question of the Utility Districts
main water line across Keiser Avenue stating that the District
had prior right of way before the Mel
ashan subdivision was laid
out and that the estimated cost of re-routing this main line so
that Keiser Ave. could be opened up for travel by the County was
$6000. He suggested that the District might consider a trade
with the County so that the District would assume the cost of re-
moving . the pipe in consideration for the County building the
necessary roads in the Meadow Lake Tract. No action was taken in
this matter.
P. Zydner of the Meadow Lake Tract drew the Supervisory attention
to the fact that they have just completed acceptinfe
that area
into the Truckee Fire District, but that it would very difficult
for them to get any fire protection without roads, although they
would be subject to a fire tax.
Manager Edmunds asked the Supervisors to give to consideration to
leasing or donating a portion of High Street at the junction of
Spring Street where the road has a width of 172 ft. for the
purpose of the District erecting a joint County -District building
where the Justices Court and the Jail and the County Deputy
Sheriffs office could be located, together with offices for the
Utility District, Fire District, Sanitary District, and Cemetary
District could be housed. Supervisor Clark and Edmunds viewed
the site. No action was taken.
