Chamberlain relative to proposed Donner later Co. were read, g to ether with ' an answer from Paul H. Chamberla in, , under date of Sept 10 on the same subject. No action taken. The Manager reported that the check had been received from the Hartford Accident Co. under date of Sept 15th in the amount of $50.30 made out to the District for the damage inflicted by Bob Gifford on our jeep truck last May and that the check had been endorsed over to Osborne's Garage. The Manager reported that the Board of Fire Commissioners had met with him on Sept 22 and had inspected the sites for proposed new hydrants in the Gateway and Meadow Lake areas. They had Y ey a requested the District to install the 6 hydrants on hand in certain designated spots at this, time. They explained that no tax money would be due until November 1954 to reimburse the District, but stated that when such money was on hand they would reimburse the District for the full cost incurred. They agreed to give written notice as to the proposed location. The matter of annual payment for these hydrants was not discussed, but the Manager suggested that the two Boards should meet at an earl y date and enter into a written agreement which would be mutually satisfactory. No action was takeny but the action of the Manager in,agreeing to place the 6 new hydrants was approved. No further business appearing, Board adjourned. Ek--Officio Secretary r d Truckee, California October 13, 1953 The members of -the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St. ,at 2: 30 p m. , B L Loynd, president, presiding. I Upon roll call the following directors were noted present: H T Langille C R Heller E L Loynd Mr. L A Baysinger appeared before the Board and further discussed the rates of the Stockton Box Co. The. District presented figures to show that the rate now being charged was bringing a revenue that would take several years to cover the cost entailed by the District in building its original line to serve the Company. After some further discussion the matter was laid over for further consideration at some future date. Mr. Baysinger retired thanking the Board for their consideration. 256 The minutes of the previous meeting were then read and approved. Chamberlain with reference to purchase of Truckee `stater System and enclosing original and copy of Trust Deed and on inal and copy of was moved and carried that the resident and promissory note. It a p acting -secretary be authorized to execute and sign the promissory note and trust deed in behalf of the District. A rough draft of a lease agreement was read by Manager Bdmunds, cover- ing the rental of a strip off' land on the roadway between the Cali- fornia Inspection Station. and the Union Oil Service Station along "` Highway 40, to Mr. and Mrs. elr d.. Collier, whereon they propose to build a small "Snack Bar" and offered to pay the District a yearly } - rental of $300. payable monthly, with a down payment of $50. to cover the last 2 months of the two year lease. It was moved and carried that the District lease the land as outlined for the period mentioned, and that the president and acting -secretary be authorized to execute a lease agreement under the terms outlined. Communications were read under date of August 25th , Seppt 9th, Sept 29th CaliforniaHi way Patrol and Oct. 3rd between the Department of g , Sierra Pacific Pw Co. and the District, relative to a pro - osed line to serve a radio building on Ski Hill south of Truckee. The manager was authorized to continue with the negotiations to build this line • with an estimated cost of around 2800.00.
