March 36, 1954
The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public
Utility District net in regular meeting at the office of the
District on Main St., at 2:30 p m., E L Loynd, president,
presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

The minutes of the meeting of March 9th were read and approved,
The following bills were read and upon motion made and carried

Manager Edmunds reported that letters had been received in answer
h it's Resolution on the Washoe Project from State
to the District �
Senator Johnson T B Waddell, Asst State Engineer, Governor
Knight and U S Senator Knowland and from Assemblyman F C Lind say .
The letter from Assemblyman Lindsay was read wherein he referred
the District to Mark S. Edson of Georgetown relative to filing on
the waters of Nevada County. Letters were read under - date of
March 20th from the Manager to Mark S. Edson and answer to same
under date of March 22nd from Mark S. Edson. The Board authorized
the Manager to personally contact Mr. Edson and gather further
information and costs on filing on the unappropriated waters in
this area. The Manager reported that Hollis A. Hunt, Chief of the
Reclamation Bureau at Carson City had called and pointed out the
economics of the Washoe Project on March 19tho

W M, a majority of the eligible employees for whom coverage is
requested by theTruckee Pudic Ut ility Distri,cthereinafter designated as
dame of the Public Agency)
"Public Agency", at an election or elections, voted in favor of the. Public Agency
making a formal application to the a Director of Finance, hereinafter desig-
nated as the State, for inclusion of the said eligible employees of said Public
Agency in an agreement between the State and the Federal Security Administrator
for the coverage of such eligible employees under the insurance system established
by Title II of the Federal Social Security Act, as amended and implemented by
Chapter 46, Statutes of 1950, 3rd Extra Session; and
WHEREAS, the Public Agency desires to file such an application with the
State and to enter into an agreement with the State containing terms and conditions
whereby the State will take the necessary steps to extend to such eligible
employees coverage under the said insurance system on behalf of the Public Agency;
and
WHEREAS,, a form of application and agreement between the State and the
Public Agency containing the terms and conditions for the inclusion by the State
of the said eligible employees under the coverage of said insurance system on
behalf of the Public Agency has been submitted to this body for consideration and
action;
NOW, AFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Public Agency execute the afore-
said application and agreement and submit the same to the State for acceptance
and that the State be, and it is hereby, requested to include all said eligible
employees of the Public Agency in an agreement between the State and the Federal
Security Administrator for the coverage of said employees under the insurance
system established by Title II of the Federal Social Security Act, as amended or
as may hereafter be amended; and

Authorized Agent of the Public Agency and is hereby authorized and directed to
execute said application and agreement, as submitted, on behalf of Public
Agency and to forward the same to the State for acceptance and further action;
and.
BE IT rutsrr SOLVED,, that said Authorized Agency is further authorized
and directed as the representative of the Public Agency to conduct all negotia-
tions, conclude all arrangements and sign all agreements and instruments which
may be necessary to carry out the letter and intent of the aforesaid application
and agreement and in conformity with all applicable Federal and State laws, rules
and regulations.

The attached Resolution covering the application of the District
to be included under the Federal Social Security Act was read •
and on motion wade and carried wes iadopted, and the Directors
signed the application for coverage of the employees of the
District to become effective as of April 1st, 1954,
The Manager reported that Morgan Stewart, Sanitary En ineer for
the State Board of Health had met with him on March 2 th and gone
over the Health Department t s report on the District's dater Systems,
which would be submitted in the near future. The Manager submitted
analysis of the Gateway pump water taken by the State Board of
Health in the past few months and advised that they were going to
continue their investigation of this water source during the coming
summer.
The Manager suggested and the Board concurred in discontinuing
the payment of the Treasurer and Clerk through the Chamber of
Commerce and hereafter making such payments direct, because of
the employee being covered by Social Security by the District in
the future.
The Directors authorized the payment of $3000-00 on the note due
the Bank, check for the same to be drawn on April 7.
The Manager reported that no further word had been received from
J Lewis or T L Chamberlain relative to the sum of $5625.00 due
the District from J Lewis on payment of the note, covering the
purchase of Meadow Lake land.
Auditor White's report for the Water and Electric systems for the
month of February was submitted to the Board members and after
perusal was ordered filed.
The Manager brought to the attention of the Board, outstanding
bills of the Hill Top Lodge, Clifford Cason, Truckee Resort,
and J H Wardman and was authorized to refer the same to Mr.
chamberlain for collection.
W. Barrett, publisher of the Sierra Sun attended the latter part
of the meeting.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
