The Manager read a letter under date of April l6th which he had written to

Paul Rausch & Son relative to cleaning up the old auto bodies and rubbish
along the road across the District t s property leading to the Sanitary Dump,
and advising that if the same was not done on or before May lst, steps would
be taken to prosecute for comaitting and maintaining a nuisance. .
The Board left the matter in the hands of the Manager for settlement.
The manager reported that he had sent out 18 communisations to different firms
asking for quotations on pipe and valves for usi in connecting up the new
tank to our lines along Highway 40 near the High School.
The reports of Auditor white for the Electric and Water Systems of the month
of march were submitted to the Directors and after perusal of the same they
were ordered filed.

Chairman Loynd stated that he had received a complaint from H. Ciardella
relative to the amount of his bill at his residence. A comparison of the
records for the past six months was made, but no undue difference was noted.
The Manager reported that he would make a further investigation.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned,

The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District
met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Fain St., at 2:30 p m.,
E L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

The minutes of the meeting of April 27th were read and approved.
The following bills were rend and upon motion made and carried were ordered paid:

The Manager presented Pipe and valve cost estimates from 8 firms and after
comparison of costs the Manager was authorized to purchase the pipe and valves
from the lowest estimate received which was the Pacific Pipe Co., for pipe
at a cost of $4097.88 and the Howard Supply Co. for valves at a cost of
798938 .
The Manager presented a list of 6 old and obsolete meters for disposal and
stated that he had received offers from two different meter testers in the past
for such old meters at a price of $1.00 each. He stated that Martin Johnson
of Donner Lake had agreed to buy these meters at a cost of $2.50 each or a total
of 15.00 for the six meters. It was moved and carried that inasmuch as these
meters were of no further use to the District that the same should be sold to
Martin Johnson for the sum of 15.00.
The Manager reported that it was desirable to change the method of paying the
employees from a weekly basis to a semi-monthly basis and that he had taken
this matter up with the employees and it was satisfactory to them. As a matter
of policy it was therefore moved and carried that hereafter the regular pay days
of the District for ` all employees would be the 5th of each month to cover the
work done up to the end of the preceeding month and the 20th of the month for
work done up to and - including the 15th of the current month.
The Manager reported that Bud Mandeville had called at the office on Monday,
May 10th and stated that he was unable to make satisfactory arrangements to
purchase the land east of the High School. It was moved and carried that
Ralph Emerson's offer to rent this pasture land east of the High School for
the current season at a price of $200. be accepted.
The Manager reported that Paul Rausch the Sanitary collector had had the
grounds cleaned up along the old road to the Sanitary dump in accordance with
the letter sent to him under date of April 16th. The Manager reported that he
had agreed with Mr. McIver of the Sanitary Board to allow the Sanitary District
to clear and use a new roadway leading directly from Brockway road into the
Sanitary dump. The Manager suggested that when this land along the Brockway
Road was surveyed into lots that this roadway should be dedicated as a county
road. This met with the approval of the Board.
k The bill victor Skorka to the amount of $81.28 was brougrit to the attention of
-- the Board and Director Heller stated that he would take the matter up with
Jack Stewart of Stewart' s Bakery where Skorka was employed with a view to having
this bill paid at an early date.
The Manager brought to the attention of the Board the need for some promotional
advertising, urging the greater use of electricity for cooking and water heating.
He suggested free servicing of ranges also some promotional advertising based
on limited free electricity or partial payment of installation costs. After
some discussion no action was taken.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
