June 29, -1954 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 2:30 pm., E L Loynd, president, presiding. Upon roll call the following directors were noted present C R Heller E L Loynd H T Langille (absent ) The minutes of the meeting of June 8th were read and approved. Chairman Loynd stated that K F Stewart had discussed with him 'Obtaining one of our Meadow Lake lots under a deferred payment plan and after some discussion it was moved and carried that Mr. Stewart be permitted to pay the $250. advance over a period of 5 months', with a $50, down payment. Mr. Fox of Tahoe City entered the meeting at this point and discussed with the Board the purchase of two lots in the Districtt s Meadow Lake tract along Highway 40. He was advised that negotiations were on for the sale of this property in one parcel which it was hoped, would be consumated within the next . 30 days, and he would be kept advised. 278 A committee from the Lake Tahoe Chamber of Cons erce had called at the office relative to the placing of a Lake Tahoe sign - on the District's property along Highway 40 east of the High School. This committee headed by Mr. James and Mr. Bettencourt of Kings Beach had also interviewed Directors Loynd and Heller and after some discussion it was moved and carried that permission be granted for the placing of a billboard on this property, provided that Lake Tahoe as a whole was to be advertised thereon and no specific resorts mentioned. The Manager read off 7 uncollectable accounts and it was moved and carried that these accounts be written off Erdm the bills receivable to the mount of 145.13 from the Electric account and 32.17 from, the eater account. No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
