July 27P 1954
The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District
met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 2:30 p m.,

Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present:

Bud Owens appeared before the Board and raised objections to the use of
District equipment and tools by District wmployees on private business.
He stated he had seen foreman T. Patterson using District equipment after
hours installing flood lights at Richfield Service Station. He was assured
by the Board that orders would be given that no such use of the District's
equipment would be made.

The Manager submitted a notice from the Bank stating that the $3000. balance
on the District f s note was 'due on August lst. Due to the financial condition
of the District the Manager reported, that it would be necessary to ask the Bank
to extend payment on the note for another year. The lHanager was so instructed
by the Board.
The Manager reported that he had presented a bill to G � -'ewis for the interest
due on his note to June 30 to the amount of 562.50.
Communications were read under date of July 15th from, John M. vIelsh, Attorney for
the Donner Lake Development Co. to T L Chamberlain, with reference to purchase
by the District of the water facilities around Donner Lake. Also letter of July 16th
from Paul H. Chamberlain to the District with reference to the same.
The Manager reported that Bernard White had .made an investigation of the work being
done at the east end of Donner Lake on the water system on July 19th and a letter
was read under date of July 21st from Mr. White relative to the same. The notice
of Hearing of the Public Utilities Commission on application #35585 of the Donner
Lake Utility Co. was read wherein notice of a hearing to be held at Donner Lake
Lodge on Thursday, August 5th was given. Some discussion took place relative to
the financing of the water system around Donner Lake by the District and the matter
was laid over for further consideration. after the hearing on August 5th,
The Manager reported that he had placed ads in 2 national magazines (Public Power
and Co-operative Power) for m engineer and superintendent and had received three
applications in answer thereto.which were read to the Board. Consideration of the
applications were laid over until further applications could be made.
The I-lanager reported that the auditors had completed the audit of the books and
read a comparison of the business done by the Electric Dept in 1937 and 1954,
which showed a gain of over 400%.
The Manager read a letter under date of July 24th that he had addressed to the
office of the Tahoe National Forest, advising them that the District could not
continue to serve them water off the McGlashan Spring line on and after August
31st, and sqggesting other arrangements that could be made.
The Manager drew the attention of the Board to the present wages being paid
to the District employees which he stated were generally under the prevailing wage
scale for such type of labor. He suggested that the salary of the treasurer be
raised and it was moved and carried that a salary increase of $25. be granted to
sirs. 4. Kamp as treasurer to be effective as of August 1, 1954,
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
