The I` anager reported that Mr. Milford Harvey of Auburn, Nebraska had arrived
on August 24th to accept the position of engineer and superintendent of the District
and had worked several days during which time e it had come to the attention of the
Manager that Mr. Harvey had become embroiled in a disturbance in one of the
bars of the town and after taking this matter up with 14r. Harvey it had been
mutually agreed that the best interests of the District would be served if he
resigned.
The Manager reported that a spring on District property in South Truckee had been
diverted on many occasions by Mr. Van Sickle to run across his land and that the
District had recently cleaned up this spring for the purpose of developing it as
a source of domestic supply and that Mr. Van Sickle had taken exception to our
development work and our endeavoring to keep the spring in its natural course
flowing across our own land. The I>ianager asked for the position of the Board
in this matter and it was gloved and carried that the water from this spring
be kept exclusively- for the use of the District and its customers.
