September 14, 1954
The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District
met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 2:30 p m.,
L L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were nat ed present:

The minutes of the meeting of August 31st were read and approved.
The following bills were read and upon motion made and carried were ordered paid:

Letters were read under date of September 2 from the 1,1anager to Paul H. Chamberlain ;
under date of Sept. 3 from Paul H. ChammberlaI n to the Public Utilities Commission;
under date of Sept. $ froa, the 11anager to Paul H.. Chamberlain; under date of Sept. 9
from Paul H. Chamberlain to the District all in reference to the Donner Lake
water situation. The Board instructed the Manager to advise Mr. Jack a ggoner,
President of the -Donner Lake liaprovement Club of the petition presented and the
situation which faces the Board.
The Manager advised the Board that he had had a couple of telephone calls from,
Donner Lake residents inquiring as to why the residents along Donner -Lake had not
been consulted before action by the Board and advising that they intended to
write the Utilities Covnission in regards to the .matter.

The Manager advised the Board that attorneyABerliner of Nevada City had called on
September 2 and had advised that he had been asked by Ivir. 4oyd Ilan Sickle to
Luraediately start suit against he District for depriving hire of certain eater
rights. The Manager had given 1ti r. Berliner a brief outline of the circumstances
after which he had agreed to withhold any action until he had personaly investigated
the situation. The Manager had offered Mr. Berliner his fullest cooperation in
investigating the circumstances. No further word has been received concerning the
natter.
The 2:na ger advised the Board that mr. R. W. Robichaud, local attorney, had inquired
on two occasions -recently as to the authority of the District in placing penalties
for non-payment of water bills. The Mmiager read Section #16461 of the Utility Act
which he believed gave. -the necessary authority, and stated that he would write
jvlr. Chamberlain to get an opinion on the matter.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District
met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St . , at 2:30 p m. ,
L L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present

Also present was Tier. Polk of the Highway Right of Way Department, who brought
up the question of the District agreeing to quiet title to those sections
redently condemned by the Highway Department for sand and gravel use.
Mr. Polk mentioned that certain restrictions in the Districts deed to G E Lewis
covering rights of way for pole and pipe line, together with a reservation
for a pump site, together with a reservation requiring exclusive use of the
Districts services were the items that his Department would like to have
removed. He stated that he had contacted 1,1r. Chamberlain and had expected
him. to take the matter up with the District before this meeting.
After some discussion relative to the reservations the Board advised fir.
Polk that they would take the matter up with attorney Chamberlain and leave
it to him. to draw up the necessary papers in accordance with the wishes of
the District. Mr. Polk left after thanking the Directors for their consider-
ation.
The minutes of the previous Meeting of September loth were read and approved.
W. Barrett of the Sierra Sun entered the meeting at this. point.
