HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-10-12 Min - BoardTruckee, California October 12, 1954 The lme.ibers of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Thin St., at 2:30 p m., E L Loynd, president, presiding, Upon roll call the following directors were noted present: H T Langille C R Heller L Loynd. Also present were Mr. Shock, Engineer of the USES and Nelson Stone, Assistant District Ranger of the Tahoe Forest, who brought up the matter of water service to the Truckee Ranger Station. After some considerable discussion it was agreed that ivilanagerImunds would ascertain the cost of instaLling a pump and line from the District's town reservoir to the Forest Service Reservoir with the necessary controls, and would submit revised water rates which might be placed in effect due to the increased cost of transrlission and operation. These figures would be submitted to the Forest Service for further consideration. Iir. Shock and Mr. Stone then left the meeting. Mr. Joe Sanders then entered the meeting and brought up the matter of his application to the State Utilities Commission to abandon his system and asked the Board to consider purchasing this system at a cost of $3000.00. After some discussion Mr. Sanders was advised that the Board would refer the matter to their attorneys and get their opinion on the legal aspects before giving it further consideration. Mr. Sanders thanked the Board for their consideration and then left the meeting. The minutes of the meeting of September 28th were read and approved. Lodato, also letter of Oct. 11 from Ijx. Erickson to John J. Lodato conerning the same. The following resolution was presented to the Board, and upon motion made and unanimously carried was passed and accepted by the Board. RESOLUTION NO, 5403 The Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District do hereby' RESOLVE that the real property described in that certain deed made the 6th day of October 1954 by and between The Truckee Public Utility District and John J. Lodato and Blanche A. Lodato, his wife, is not needed or necessary for the present or future needs of the Truckee Public Utility District; and. BE IT FURTHER RESOLV:,,M that it is for the best interests of the Truckee Public Utility District that the said real property be sold upon the terms and conditions and subject to certain restrictions and reservations set forth in the said deed; and the president of the Board of Directors and the Secretary of the District are hereby authorized and directed in the name of the District to execute El the said deed, ADOPTS by the Board of Directors, Truckee Public Utility District this 12th day of October 1954, by the following vote: Ayes: Directors Loynd, Heller and Langille Noes: None Absent: None Communications were read under 'date of Sept 30 from the District to T L Chamberlain, under date of Oct 4th from Paul H. Chamberlain. to the -- State Dept rof Employment, under date of Oct 4th from Paul H. Chamberlain to the District; under date of Oct 8th from Carl J. Blechinger of the Dept of Employment to Paul H. Chamberlain and under date of Oct 11 from. Paul H. Chamberlain to the District. All relative to the establishment of a District Retirement System. Further consideration of this matter was left to the gathering of more information which was to be submitted by � �r. Paul H. Chamberlain. A communication wau read under date of Oct llth from Paul H. Cha-iberlain to the District relative to a quit claim deed which had been discussed by Mr. Polk of the Division of Highways with the Board at its Meeting of _Sept 28th. In view of the facts set forth in this co.munication it was agreed by the Board that no further action would be taken, in the matter. A statement was read under date of Sept 14 from T L Chamberlain relative to the cost and expense of services rendered to the District in connection with the annexation and development of water in the Donner Lake area. The sum total $382.40 and it was noted that this sum had been covered by the retainer fees. The Manager reported that he had asked for this statement so as to be able to allocate this expense to the Donner Lake area. A communication was read under date of Sept 29 from the District to Paul Rausch relative to a balance owing the District of ""269.60. Chairman Loynd reported that I r. Rausch had contacted him and had advised that he E would be in a position to clear up this bill in full as soon as he sold some hogs which he expected to do in the near future.
