A co:iunication was read under date of January 31st from the Virginia & Truckee
Transit Co. relative to bus service between Truckee and the Surnit area, also
an answer to the same under date of Feb 2nd asking for a meeting to discuss
the matter. Also letter of Feb 3rd addressed to J P Vind asking for a meeting
to discuss such _a bus service. The manager reported that no answer had been
received as yet to these letters.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.

Due to the absence of Manager Edmunds at the conference of the California
Municipal Utilities Association, no meeting was held at the regular meeting date
of February 22nd .
The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met
in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 2:30 p m.,
E L Loynd, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following directors were noted present:

Communications under date of Feb 9th from Paul H. Chamberlain, also under date of
Feb llth from the District to Paul H. Chamberlain and under date of Feb 16th
from Paul H. Chamberlain, all with reference to the General Election to be held
on the 3rd day of May, 1955 were read, together with Ordinance No. 5501
and Resolution #5501 and the Election Proclamation pursuiant thereto and attached
to and made a part of these minutes,were read,and on motion made and carried
were adopted as indicated by the Certificate attached thereto. The Manager
reported that due to the limited timer available, the Election Proclamation
had been published in the Sierra Sun on Feb 17th and Feb 24th, as indicated by
affidavit of publication presented to the Board. He also stated that notices
of the election had been posted in Truckee on a pole in front of the Post Office
at Gateway on a pole near the shopping center and at Donner Lake on a pole near
the Donner Trading Post.
It was moved and carried that a deed granted to the Napa Ski Club for a lot in
the Meadow Lake tract on February 28th, be approved by the Board and the President
and Acting -Secretary of the Board signature to the same be also approved.
The Manager reported that on February 17th Mr. J P Vind had called relative to
the busses which he had operated on the Donner Summit and had stated that Mr.
Erskine, President of the Reo Corporation, who was interested in these busses
would call the District from San Francisco. To date no call had been received.
A letter was read under date of Feb 22nd from President J Z Wood of the Virginia
and Truckee Transit Co. relative to the same matter.
The 1--Tanager presented an application for the purchase of tax deeded property,
covering the old ice palace property, which representatives of the Truckee
Chamber of Commerce had left in our office with a request that the Directors
consider purchasing this property at public auction - for use as an ice pond.
It was moved and carried that the District ,sake an offer to purchase this
property for the outstanding taxes of 242.68 and that the sum of $20. be
advanced to the County Tax Collector to cover the cost of advertising.
The Manager requested permission to purchase a Dodge Power Vlagon equipped with
electric maintenance body and to advertise bids for the same. It was moved and
carried that the Managers request be granted.
The Manager reported that no word had been received to date from Mr. G. E. Lewis
relative to the payment due on property viest of the High School,
The Manager requested authorization to raise the salary of Eve Hallett, clerk
from $200. _to $225,, per rlonth - Tom Patterson, foreman, from "25. to $450. per
month - and 1 inifred K&ngo, Treasurer, from 000, to 325, per month. On
motion made and carried the salary of 11anager E&nunds together Vi-ith those requested
above was raised from �500, to $550. per -month. kll to become effective as of
April 11 1955.

TRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
ESTABLISHING HOURS OF POLLING AND NUMBER
OF ELECTION BOARD OFFICERS IN DISTRICT
LECTI0'12 .
WHEREAS the Truckee Public Utility District is a public util-
ity district duly organized and existing under and by virtue of
the Public Utility District Act of the State of California, being
Sections 15 501 and following, of the Public Utilities Code of
California y and
WI EREAS Section 16156 of said. Public Utilities Code, herein -
above referred to, provides for the establishment of hours of
polling and the number of election board officers at elections in
public utility districts operating and existing thereunder;
NOW, T11EREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
TRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILIT11 DISTRICT, as follows
1. That, pursuant to Section 16156 of the Public Utilities
Code of the State of California, hereafter the voting polls at
District elections shall be open., and the hours of polling shall,
and are hereby established to be, from and between the hours of
1 P.M., to and. until the hour of 6 P.M.
2. That, pursuant to Section 16156 of the Public Utilities
Code of the State of California, hereafter at District elections,
the election boards shall consist of three members, to -wit: one
1 inspector., one judge and one clerk.

Pursuant to an order of the Board of. Directors of Truckee
Public Utility District,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the District Biennial General
Election shall be held in said District on the 3rd day of May,
1955, for the purpose of electing two Directors -at -Large;
: That candidates may obtain from the Clerk of said District,
-and circulate nomination papers c om-menc ing February 221 1955; that
