this tenth day of ly;ay, 1955 authorizes the Treasurer to draw
the checks to the amount due as may be necessary to pay such
labor bills and authorizes the proper officials of the District
to sign such checks in the interim between B oard meetings, a.nd,
PURTHEU, the amounts of all such checks issued shall be presented to
the Board at their next regular meetinCD
g for approval.
Walter Barrett left the meeting at this time.
The Manager then briefed the Board on several matters pending effecting the
District. He brought to the attention of the Board the financial statement
rendered at each mee Ling and e. ,T- lained that orders had been placed for a new .—.
truck and a new Utility body to be 1-111ounted on the truck. He also outlined
a few of the plans for the future develop-rtent of the water systemo and ex-
olained the need for considerable financial expenditures thereon.
The Manager asked and received approval f ro, the Board for continuing the
efforts of the District to bring about a joint building between the County
and the District. He also brought up the ,patter of endeavoring to obtain a
successor to the position ofaanager of the District and stated that he would
continue to try to contact a suitable man.
Director IJelch requested the sanager to take the directors on a. tour of the
District's facilities at an early date. The Manager reported that as soon as
road conditions perrAtted he would attempt to do so.

in regular teet-ing at the office of the District on gain St . , at 2:30 � m.,

The Board took up the matter of the Annual Audit of the Districts books for the
fiscal year ending Uune 30, 1955 and after some discussion it was ,moved and
carried that the firm of Harm 1JI, Straine & Sons of Sa.cr&mento be hired to conduct
the audit.
The Manager explained to the Board the rental of the pasture land owned by the
District along; Highways 89 and 40 and stated that Ralph 'kierson, who had had the
rental of this property for the past few years had agreed to take it again for
the 1955 season at the s&,-fie rental of �200. which he had -c1id.
The 11ana er reported that 1 r. L J Arch, Postal Inspector from Zeno, Nevada. Ilad
called at the office with reference to our proposed new building and the
possibi lity of the postoffice rentinj, a portion of the buildl w'nen colpleted.
A communication was read under date of 14ay 27th from the District to Paul H.
Chamberlain with reference to public liability of the District or the Directors
in allowing the use of the Districts land for recreation purposes. No answer
had been received as yet and after some disc�ass:�_on the a�nager ��as instructed
to see if it was possible to have all the District's activities covered by
blanket liability insurance.
Director relch brought up the matter of the Safety Station building on the
Districts land near the Quarantine Station, and stated that the matter would be
taken up with the former operator and instructions given to remove the station.

The Ilanager submitted some proposed chancres in the water rates of t1le District

rates. After some discussion the matter was la-.d over for future consideration,
