Cr Due, to the inconvenience of the present meeting days and hours to a majority of the Directors, it was moved and carried that future meetings of the Board will be held on the second and last Thursday of each month at 9:00 a m at the office of the District. The Manager stated that Daniel Bras. who are supplying logs to the Hilltop sawmill had requested permission to use a portion of the Districts land adjacent to the mill, consisting of approximately 4 acres and had agreed to a monthly rental of $25. per ono. A. Carver,• Attorney,- appeared before the-- Board -and requested further n information relative to the springs .and water rights of the District of which Mr. Lloyd _ van Sickle was concerned.- It was ' explained to Mr. Carver that the spring;k,,in question were on District land -and were -being cleaned out and developpd to maintain the domestic water supply. of. the District, and that they had been contributing to this source for many years. Mri Carver explained that he had apparently been given a wrong conception of the situatioli,. and was glad to receive the information from the District, after thanking the Directors he then departed. Manager Edmunds reported that one of the recent fires had originated on District property close to_ the McGlashan tunnel and t and had apparently been caused by children -playing with matches. The fire haid been brought ' under control by the Forest Serq.ce and the Truckee Volunteer Fire Department, In appreciation _.. of the ' efforts=' of the volunteer fires it was moved and-16arried that a donation of $25.00 be d6ntributed to the Timds of the volunteer Fire Department. j The Manager reported that he had held a meeting with Mr. van Bourg of the firm of De Lapp an& Ada Bourg, Architects of Berkeley, California, regarding plans for a new District -County office building. He explained that Mr. van Bourg was to send copies of a site survey and a proposed oontraet together with owher architect obligation for the consideration of the District. These forms hale not been received as yet. After some discussion relative to other sites it tw moved and carried that the Manager be authorized to go ahead and have the site -at Spring and E Main surveyed. A comuni.cation. was read under date of July 26t h from Paul H* chamberlain .relative to securities fqr deposits of the Bank of America.- Also the agreement for the deposit of funds between the Truckee Public Utility District and the Bank. The • same were ordered filed. The Manager brought up the matter of the garbage collection in the District and guggested that -lie thought the best interests of the people would-be served if the District were..tg take over the garbage collections "No action, ' was taken.
