HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956-01-12 Min - BoardA discussion was held on the proposed rules and regulations and raises in water
rates. The manager submitted a new section relative to new subdivisions to be
added to the rules and regulations, also a comparative study of the present and
proposed rates covering the months of August andNovember 195% which indicated
with a 10% discount an estimated additional annual revenue of approximately
2000.00. After some discussion relative to the merits of the 10% dideount on
water and the need for more revenue, it was moved and carried that no discount
should be allowed on the water bills. With this correction it was moved and
carried that the rules and regulations of the new proposed rates be adopted and
that a copy of the same be forwarded to Attorney -Chamberlain for final approval
in the form of an ordinance.
The report of auditor White for the month of November for the Electtic and 'dater

ordered filed.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.

A co.ranunication was read under date of Jan 4th and one on Jan 9th from Paul H.
Chamberlain, relative to a proposed ordinance covering water rules, _regulations
and rates. His suggestion that an ordinance be drawn covering essential rules
and rates and that other regulations and rules be kept separate and referred to
in general by the ordinance was discussed by the Board and the matter was
referred to the Manager to take up with Mr. Chamberlain for further clarification
before any action by the Board.
The Manager reported that at a meeting of the Nevada CountyAResources Board
the question of filing on some of the water in this area for power purposes
had been discussed and that in view of the contemplated action by Congress on
the Washoe Project, he -had deemed it advisable that the District file on the
Little Truckee River for water for a power plant at the upper end of the Boca
Reservoir. He further stated that the stater Resources B oard planned on asking
the Board of Supervisors to file on Prosser Creek and also on the Little Truckee
River for irrigation purposes,: The Board members approved the action taken by
the Manager.
The Manager stated that Superintendent of Schools E V Ot Rourke had called him
with reference to a water bill on the old high school which they had been paying
for the past year and a half, but which he claimed had not been used. He asked
if an adjustment could be made and a credit given to the School District. It
was moved and carried that credit be given the School District for this water
bill to July 1, 1955.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
