Chamber'ain, relative to a proposed ordinance covering water rules, regulations and rates. His suggestion that an ordinance be drawn covering essential rules and rates and that other regulations and rules be kept separate and referred to in general by the ordinance was discussed by the Board and the matter was referred to the Manager to take up with Mr. Chamberlain for further clarification before any action by the Board. The Manager reported that at a meeting of the Nevada County Resources Board the question of filing on some of the water in this area for power purposes had been discussed and that in view of the contemplated action by Congress on the Washoe Project, he -had deemed it advisable that the District file on the Little Truckee River for water for a power plant at the upper end of the Boca Reservoir. He further stated that the hater Resources B oard planned on asking the Board of Supervisors to file on Prosser Creek and also on the Little Truckee River for irrigation purposes._. The Board members approved the action taken by the Manager. The Manager stated that Superintendent of Schools E V Ot Rourke had called him with reference to a water bill on the old high school which they had been paying for the past year and a half, but which he claimed had not been used. He asked if an adjustment could be made and a credit given to the School District. It was moved and carried that credit be given the School District for this water bill to July 11 1955. Joseph and the District with reference to the extension of mains into one of his sub- divisions and the reason that the District was paying him one-half of the billing each year for a period of five years. A letter was read under date of Jan 25th from the District to Paul H:. Chamberlain relative to an ordinance and proposed rules and regulations for the water department. Action on the same was laid over until a report was received from Mr. Chamberlain. The Manager informed the Board that Crandall Bros. Hilltop mill was considering changing their service over to la.40 volts 3 phase and explained the cost in connection with making such change. A letter was read, dated Jan 26th from the District to Crandall Bros. setting forth the conditions and amount of advance payment which the District would require to install such service. The Board unanimously concurred in the to �� s of the , letter as set forth. A copy of a letter was read dated Jan 23rd from A H Lawson to Mr. Elwell Bowers r of the Pacific Tel & Tel Co. relative to moving the lines from over the top of his house and also the lines of the District which are on the telephone poles under joint agreement. The matter was referred to the Iianager to handle in connection with the Telephone Co.' s wishes. Letters were read under date of Jan 18th from Paul H. Chamberlain, under date of Jan 19th from the District and answer to same under date of Jan 20th from Paul H. Chamberlain, relative to the sale of certain property from 0 E Lewis to the Division of Beaches and Parks and the manager reported that in telephone conversation with Mr. Paul H. Chamberlain he had informed him that an easement of 5 ft, parallel with the proposed road over this land for a water main would be accellable to the District. The Board unanimously concurred in this suggestion and further action was laid over until the necessary documents had been received. A copy of a note to G E Lewis and Patricia M. Lewis informing there of the payment on principal due with interest to Jan 2nd, of $5312.50, was read to the Board. The manager informed the Board that he had discussed by telephone with Mr. Paul H. Chamberlain the matter of an architect's agreement for preliminary plans for a new office building and had been assured by him that the matter would receive his early consideration. Some discussion took place relative to the employees on the payroll of the District at this time, also the need for repairing the main line from the Toni.ni system tank across the Truckee River, which was broken during the recent flood. Also the need for -some action relative to removal of the old information booth on the District'-s property west of the Inspection Station. No direct action was taken on these matters. The report of Autitor C B White for the month of December was submitted to the Board and after perusal by the members was ordered filed. No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
