The Manager reported that he had made arrangements with the Sierra
Pacific Power Co. to build a 60,000 volt line to connect up with the
Burney Lumber Sales Co. mill at the end of Church St. A right of way
for this line was being asked from the Southern Pacific Co. and as soon
as it can be obtained the line will be built and service will be rendered
by the District.
The Manager also reported that Crandall Bros. were proposing to change
over their mill from Diesel to full electric operation and that he had made
arrangements for a deposit to be put up by Crandall Bros. to cover the cost
of extending the line to serve the mill. The deposit to be returned by a
discount on the monthly bills over a period of two years.
The Directors attention was called to some new audit reports that were
being required by the State Controllers office for all special Districts in
the state.
The Directors att ent ion was also called to considerable work which was
coming up this summer due to extensive relocation of certain pole lines by the
Pacific Tel & Tel Co.
The Manager asked for permission to sell a considerable amount of
jonk copper and iron that has accumulated for several years and was stored in
the District's warehouse. It was moved and carried that the Manager be author-
ized to call -'for bids for the disposal of this junk material.
The Manager reported that he had discussed with Mr. Jack McGlade, Supt.
of the Tahoe Forest Hospital, the matter of the installation of a ground sprinkler
system, and that he had suggested to Mr. McGlade that he write a letter to the
Board of Directors requesting for some financial help in installing the same.
The proposed new Rules & Regulations governing the Water Systems, having
been presented and considered by the Board, it was moved and carried that the
Rules & Regulations as proposed be adopted and made effective by the District as
of April 1, 1956.
In view of this meeting having been postponed from the regular meeting
date of April 12th, on account of the absence of Manager Edmunds being out of
town, it was the unanimous opinion of the members that there would be no need
for another meeting this month and that the next meeting of the Board would be
on the regular date of May loth.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
