The -members of the Board of Directors of t-ie Truckee Public Utility District
lmet in regular ,neeting at the office of the District on 1-.1ain St., at 2:30 p m-,
C R Heller, president, presiding.
Upon roll call the following, Directors were noted J.
present:

Also present were - lVirs. Eve Popovich, '�ilbert I'1cKenzie, Robert Stelrlack,
Harry Noires and A B Cook,
IJr. SteLma.ck explained to the Board that he had been very recently called in
by Mrs. Popovich to assist in financing the Donner Trails subdivision and that
he had not had time to negotiate the necessary details in connection therewith,
and asked the Board to consider an extension for t'-.e payment of the sum necessary
to close the deal until Saaturday, April 6th at 12 midnight. He further ex
olained that it was necessary for him to appear before the Board of Supervisors
on .'Alondaf, April 1 to get their agrees gent to institute improvement bonds for
this subdivision under either the 1911 or 1915 Act. It was moved and carried
that an extension of ti..{ e for the pay,�ent of the sum ofp26, 250.00 be extended
until Ynidni,ght April 6, 1957 and that the Inter-Countco
y Title Co. be so advised.

The minutes of the regular meeting of T march 14th were read and approved,
and the following bills were read and upon motion made and carried were ordered

The-lana.ger reported that 2 Nom�.nation papers had been filed for position of
Director for the election to be held on V! 7th, one by Marl I{ielhofer and
one by George Kasp_ian. The 1l�nager stated that he had checked the na; aes on
the no,�.inatirig petitions and found that they were legFaly sufficient.

The _�Irana.ger reported that G E Lewis had asked for an esti .s-late of laying and
connecting the pipe from the Districts main to the Highway Mlaintenance Station
on Burckhalter Ave. He stated that he had been asked to give an estL-aate of
digging the necessary ditch and laying the pipe for the Highway Dept. The
Manager reported that he had suggested that 1` r. Lewis get �1r. Cook to give him
an estimate.
The A.Lana er reported that bids had been advertised in the Sierra Sun

for a quan ity of pipe, valves, poles and cross arms, said bids to
be siODial_tted to the Board at their April llth meeting, and that he
had sent out specifi cations covering this -rater Lal to a niulber of
fir ras who ru.ght be interested in bidding.
The Y°*anager brought to the attention of the Board the :ratter of the
expiration of the 5 year lease on our office quarters. He stated that
the District had an option to extend this lease for an additional 5 gears.
It was _-roved and -carried that the be instructed to request
fro.r:i the Masonic T&: tple Association an extension of the lease for an
addi do nal 5 years.
The 1.1anager reported that Mr. Bartholemy. ecutive officer of the
Olympic Con.,mission together with 1dr. �V. Barrett, a me:-Lber of the
Olv �, pic Co midssion, had been in the office to mal:e arrange-r- eats for
use of the office space which was offered to the Cot:�i.ssion and that
it was proposed to make use of this space on a ternpora.ry basis sorze
time early in April arnd that so;ie arrange�ients -right be :jade to -,iake
use of the District' s part time clerk to assist in handling their
office work.
Chairnan Heller stated that Supt. John Corbin of the Tahoe —Truckee School
District had requested use of the land owned b.; the District, known as
the Ball Die-.ond. It was agreed that the school could make use of this
area provided a rider was included on their Insurance polio to protect
the District against accidents.
The Manager re_orted that he was working on solle new Rules acid Regulations
and a proposed Ordinance to cover the Electric Service of the District
u,.nd would submit the same to the Board for their consideration in the
near future.
Some discussion took place relative to water rates, particularly in
regards to water used on lavms and. gardens. No action was taken.
The Agana_ er reported that a Highway ��;;�gineer had called at the office
and reported that they would have a ~map ready for the District within
60 days showing the utilities whi ch it -wo ,ald be necessary to re rove on
account of the new Freeway. The M-ana:ger read an article from the APPA
Sews Letter explaining t;.e efforts that were being made to have the
Bureau of Public goads pay as : ruch of is- e necessary in relocating utilities
as ooss_ble.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
