Chamberlain with reference to having certain reservations in the deed, coveri:-,g the Donner Trail Subdivision _re coved, due to negotiations in making an assessment District to cover the cost of roads a -id utilit_I_es. Kr. Chamberlain under date of April 2, forwarded three copies of Subordination of Reservation and to facilitate the transaction, Chzair� a1 seller and Acting Secretary . drmunds had signed the s&r e on behalf of the District. A letter was read under date of April 5th fro�_z G L cKinzely and .eve i,opovich stating that the attornetir' s for the Bolding people had turned down the assess:Yient deal, due to the deed indicatin that the purchase -;rice was for the land only arid. that 11 r. Charles Cross, of the Truckee Tahoe Lbr Co. was negotiating to finance the subdivision for them, and the deal should be closed withi~ the next day or two. Co-imunications were read under date of �yarch 28th frost the District to J D Anderson, Secty of the 1-11asonic Temple hsso, notif`Ting him that the District desired to extend tie lease on the office for an additional five years under the terms and conditions now in effect, and ender date of April 5th from Kr . Anderson to the District stating that the lliasonic Temple Association were agrAeable to renewing the lease as requested, and stating that due to a: raise in taxes it mdght be necessary to make an ad just�ent in the monthly rental charge. Lewis and i gad been acknowledged under date of April loth. A motion was made and carried endorsing the action Of the ''Lanager in signing this letter to --r. Lewis, The tia:ie beinr-r 3:00 p m at which ti.-ae calls for bids for pipe and valves had been advertised the Board proceeded to open th&e b _ds. 11 r. Jeff Jeffery and 114r. Record of t'rlle Record Supply Co. of Reno, 11,1r. Earl Housley of Crane Co. of Reno, and 1 r. Basil Bankus of Roscoe 14oss Co of Yuba City were present representing their respective companies. Eleven bids were received and read and after so,-ie discussion and with the approval of all present, it was moved arld carried that all bids be recorded and referred to the Manager for his reco-gmendations, to be made at a special .meeting of Board. At this time Illessrs. Jeffery, Record, Housle r and Ba.nkus left the �aieeti.ng. A motion was rade and carried that the bids for poles and cross ar-.s be recorded and referred -,to 7the-,Manager for his reco_imendation to be made at a special _ Meeting of the Board. Tr. T'r. r . Fair then entered the meeting and explained that he had entered into an agreement for a lot in Leadow Lake knoi-rn as parcel #29 and that he had been notified at a later date that the agreement had been cancelled because the conditions in the agreement '�_ad not been fulfilled. He also stated that he had a?;reed to clat soYne Christmas trees off District land back in 1954 at 75' per tree and that settle tent for the sal.me had not been _made. He claimed he had received a bill from the District for 000. cover -- in the cutting of the Chri st:Lias trees, brit this bill was excessive and that the amount should not be over 5150. The District was off ring Kx. Fair a, y)200. refund for the advance made on the lot. After some discussion it was finally agreed between Mr. Fair and the Board that it would be satis- factory to all concerned if the District refunded I:Lr. Fair 4100. and cancelled the bill of the Christ,:mas trees acid in return 11r. Fair would the cancell- ation of the agr--e_ Ient for the parcel of land in the Ili Lake tract known as parcel 29. 11r. Fair then left the i_ieeting. Co : niunications were read under date of April 1, from I,ir. Paul H. Chamberlain to S ]r. F A Tracy, president of t 1rme Sierra Pacific Power Co. and f ro-m 7_1,r. Chamberlain to the District, regCardin g arrangements for a-I.eet�_ng covering the acquisition of the Donner Lake line of the Sierra Pacific Power Co. The 'Mnager reported that Ordinance 57-01 covering the 0aneral i,:lection for 1 director and a proposition to increase -the nu.iber of directors, had been ordered published in the Sierra Sun of April llth and April 25th and that arrange-_ients would be made to ~tail out codes of the Ordinance to all qualified electors of the District. The .manager reported that C A Tollefson had inquired about obtaining water service to an area al-ing the river on the old ball park site. Investigations had been iaade as to the feasibility of getting ;eater under the Southern Pacific tracks in the vicinity of the old Tahoe subway and a price had. been given 11-1r. Tollefson of �1500. to surely domestic service through a 211 line if it was found that such a line could be installed in an old 4" pipe under the tracks and if a parr; ' t for the use of the same could be obtained from. the Southern Pacific Co. A discussion took place relative to the annual audit of the books of the District and it was gloved and carried thr-t the firm of Harry '. 3traine ,?� Sons of Sacramento be hired to as -ce the audit for the year July 1, 1956 to June 30, 1957. and the ,ana3er was instructed to so advise this firm.
