The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District
met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 9:30 a m.,
Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present:
Jack Neugebauer Hal Welch George Kaspian (absent)
Also present was A B Cook
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 8th were read. and approved,
and the following bills were read and upon motion made and carried were
ordered paid:

The Manager reported that the bonds of B R King, Jr.,, and Daniel Horman
as Directors of the District here an -.file and that they would be notified
of the next meeting of the Board.
The Manager read a communication under date of August 12th from G E Lewis
relative to the amount apportioned in his bill to clearing of trees from
the road right of ways, and also quoting paragraphs from the County Road
Specifications relative to the area to be covered. A motion was made
and carried that the total amount of the bill $7527.87 be applied on the
principal and interest due from Mr. Lewis.
communications were read under date of August 22 from Paul H. Chamberlain
to Messers Wittmier and Wierdsma and under date of Aug 27 from Chamberlain
to the Public utility District and August 29 from the District to Mr.
Chamberlain, all relative to the outstanding bill of vIittntier and Wierdsma.
covering the handling of the District's wires during the moving of the
Olympic Hotel. Communications were ordered filed.
Communications were read under date of August 23 from Paul H. Chamberlain
to the District and August 30 from the District to Chamberlain, relative
to a possible connection of the District with the lines of the PG & E at
Donner Summit. Communications were ordered filed.
A communication was read under date of Aug 22 from Paul H. Chamberlain
to the Sierra Pacific Power Co. asking for information relative to the Donner
Lake line. Communication filed. The Manager reported on the urgent need
for new facilities at the substation and stated that something must be done
in the very near future to relieve the situation, due to the increasing demand
on the District's facilities. The Manager reported that he had received a
phone call from the Power Engineer of the Bureau of Reclamation at Carson City,
asking for data on the District's load requirements if povIer could be obtained
from the Washoe Project when completed.
At this point Mr, N F Dolley and Earl Stice entered the meeting as representatives
of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce. They advised the Board of the plans and
proposed activities of the Chamber and asked for consideration in having the
District continue their monthly donation of $50. to the Chamber.
�~ They were advised by Chairman Welch that the matter would be discussed at the
next meeting when it was hoped that all Directors would be present. The
Manager reported that if there was any intention of having the ice pond
used this coming winter that some work should be undertaken now to put it in
shape.
The Manager reported that he had advertised in the Sierra Sun calling for bids
for a new truck for the past 2 weeks but that no bids had been received to date.
The Manager was authorized to endeavor to negotiate on the best terr.��s possible
the purchase of a power wagon for use of the stater Dept.
The Manager reported that inquiries had been received relative to the installati.)n
of additional street lights in the Gateway area. He had estimated that it would
cost $400. per block to install 2 additional lights. in each block.
The Manager reported that he was to meet this p m with Mr. Siler, utility Engineer
of the State Highway Dept, relative to removal of utility facilities due to the
building of a new freeway. The Directors were advised by the plans submitted by
the Highway Dept of some of the work that would be necessary and also of some of
the expenses that the District would have to bear. The Manager reported that
Mr. Siler had stated that it was his opinion that negotiations for the purchase
of the District's land would be undertaken early in the coming month.
The Manager reported that the Denney Lagging Co, had paid $1000, on account but
still had a large outstanding bill.

The Manager stated that Jack Ellis and Mrs. Betty Kielhofer representing those
interested in promoting a golf course, had indicated that the District land between
Donner Creek and the Southern Pacific R R track, west of Highway 89 seemed to be
a better location than the land along the Brockway Road, however, they were to
make further investigations.
Auditor --;White's report for the month of July were presented to the Board members
and after perusal of same were ordered filed.
No further business appearing, Board adjourned.
