HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-03-27 Min - BoardDirector Kaspian requested that the District get some cost data relative to a Diesel Power Plant and the Manager stated he would endeavor to get an engineer from one or more of the Diesel engine companys to a meeting of the Board. The Manager presented a preliminary study of proposed reductions in the rates for lighting in the District which studies showed b: ,Ip6saible reduction of - around 9%. He stated that further studies would be necessary to indicate the possible effect upon the gross income and these would be made and presented to the Board at their next meeting. The Manager brought up the question of bringing to a settlement the land . sale to the Atkinson Bros. and the restrictions that might be incorporated in the deed.- The Manager was instructed to contact the Atkinson Bros,, and draw up a deed as outlined. The reports of Auditor White for the month of February covering the Electric and Water Depts were presented to the Board members and after perusal of the same were ordered filed. Correspondence was read between Constance ker and the District relative to a complaint on a water shut off, due to work on the District's lines, and the water rates. Communications were ordered filed. No further business appearing, Board adjourned. Acting -Secretary . , le " Chairman Truckee, California March 27, 1958 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in regular meeting at the office of the District on Main St., at 4:00 p M. Upon roll call the following directors were noted present: Dan Horman - B R King,Jr. - Jack Neugebauer- George Kaspian(absent)Hal Welch(absent Also present: Chester Doerr- Mr. Prestegard of the Fairbanks Morse Co. The minutes of the regular meeting of March 13th were presented to each Director and upon motion made and carried the minutes as transcribed were approved. The Resolution was briefly discussed and then laid over for consideration when all Directors would be present. fir. Prest eg ard, representing the Fairbanks Morse Co. who had been present previous to a quorum of the Board, had stated that he expected Mr. Oxsen of the San Francisco office to be in Truckee March 28th in the p m and had requested as many of the Directors as possible to meet with him in the office of the District to further discuss the feasibility of a Diesel plant. The Manager presented the Board with some proposed rate reduction statistics and the comparison of the same with the rates of the Sierra Pacific Power Co. and after some discussion the matter was laid over until the next meeting. It was thought advisable that the Manager arrange for some publicity to be given through the Sierra Sun to the misleading state.�cents that were going around Donner Lake to the effect that the District intended to raise the rates if they were able to get the Donner Lake line. The Manager reported that at his request Mr. Chamberlain had drawn up a proposed resolution covering the purchase of supplies as required by recent action of the Legislature. This resolution would be brought up at the next meeting for further consideration, The reports of Auditor White for the month of February, covering the opera- tions of the Electric and eater departments were presented to the Board and after perusal by the members wereordered filed.
