Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: Dan Horman- George Kaspian- B R King, Jr - Hal Welch- Jack i-leugebauer (absent) Also present,-6 C 1,1 Doerr- II F Dolley- R. Joseph- Paul H. Chamberlain The =routes of the rem-l-]-ar meeting of rpril 24th were presented to each Director and upon motion made by Director King and secanded by Director Kaspian, they were approved as transcribed. Paul Chamberlain the outstanding bill of the Hill Top Mill and Lodge and went over with h:Ui letters of April 17th from the Nevada -Manage aent Co to the District, relative to the manner in which this Company. proposed to pay off the bill of the Hill Top mill. After some discussion, Mr. Chamberlain suggested that he write a letter to the Nevada Management Co. setting -forth the wishes of the Board, that the outstanding bill be paid off in &mounts of $500. each month begirding :. tarith June 15th until the full amount had been paid, The '�anager reported to the Board that I 0 Gifford had contacted Eve Hallett, --- billing clerk of the District, and had offered a sum of between $100. and '6000. for copies of letters in the files of the District pertaining to him and his operations and had further stated that he expected the Sierra Pacific Power Co. to take over the District and that he would assure her a good position irrhen this was accomplished. Mr. Chamberlain stated that May 28t h at 1: 30 p m was the date agreed upon for the hearing in Judge Wilson's Court on the outstanding bill of I 0 Gifford. The tanager presented.a proposed ordinance, covering the electric system together with proposed rate reductions, also a set of rules and regulations covering the electric system. The Board instructed that they be turned over to Mr. Chamberlain for approval, after which they would be returned to the Board for action. Director Kaspian brought up the matter of a contribution by the District to the Hed Cross drive. After some discussion it was agreed that it was against the policy of the District to contribute to such drives. 1.1r, Chamberlain then discussed the present status with the Sierra Pacific Power Co. covering the Donner Lake Line, stating that he had discussed the matter 'with Mr. Orrick of San Francisco, legalcounsel for the SPPCo. and that he had advised that Mr. Tracey was leaving the matter up to his Board of Directors who were expected to meet some time early in June. So..ie further discussion took place relative to the District r~iaking application to the Sierra Pacific Power Co. to be served by a higher voltage. Also the amount of C B White, jr. appraisal cost were discussed. Mr. R. Joseph entered the meeting at this time and requested that the District return or sell to him the remainder of the Donner Creek lot along Highway g9. An' -offer to -,.-purchase this lot had been made by Mr. Doolittle at the last Meeting and after so-e discussion Ir. Joseph to meet the offered price of 431750. G, plus additional land on the reservoir site south of the proposed Freeway to be enlarged to 200 x 200, B R King, Jr. left the 1Iieeting at this time. 11r. Joseph thanked the Board and left the meeting. I-Ir. Dollev appeared before the Board at this time on behalf of the Chamber of CoT erce to request the District to install modern Street Lights along 111ain St. between Bridge St. and the new Freeway-. After soY;ie discussion relative to the cost the matter was laid over until a full Board could be present. Mr. Dollev thanked the Board and left the ;�eeting. The Miana er brou7-,ht up the question of the annual audit of the books of the District to take place June 30th and after some discussion it was moved and carried that the Firm of Harry MI. Straine Sons be h red to audit the books for the fiscal year. A. letter of March 6th from the District to Paul H. Chamberlain relative to the liability of the District in pav-aent of overtime to monthly paid help was discussed with 1J1r. Chamberlain, who stated that he had the ::latter under consideration and was awaiting reply from the State Labor Board and irould advise the District as soon as he had their decision. The Mwaager reported that a check had been received from the Denney Logging Co. for �2500, to apply on their account and the balance was expected within the next 30 days. The -Iana.ger brought up the question of special rates for watering laims duri ag the months of June,July and August, similar to the rates granted during 1957, and it was ~moved and carried that upon proper application made at the office of the Distric these sa:ye special rates would apply during June, July and Auglzst 1958.
