HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-03-26 Min - BoardMinutes March 12, 1959 Continued It was reported by Manager Morey the Districts bid on the Crandall - Cowan property of $ 25 ,150.00 had been accepted by the Auburn bank, $ 2000.00 will be added. to bid price for tax and cost. Mr, Topel of the Burney Lumber Company required as to the sale or lease of the property. It was the boards decision nothing should be done at the present time. It was moved by Director Kaspian and second by Director King a resolution be adopted to remove remainder of $50,000.00 from Bank of America and deposit in savings account in Auburn bank. On roll call vote on the above motion, those voting in favor were: Ayes: Horman -Kasp ian-King-Neugebauer-Welch Noes: None Manager Morey gave a brief report on Mr. Fleischmanns reports to him. Manager Morey . advised the Board he had been contacted by Associated Oil and Reginald Smart concerning the 200 X 234 corner at the Tahoe Y . They wanted to know if it was for sale and the price set on it, It was the boards decision no land be sold in that area until free- way was completed There being no further business the meeting was, a j gurned : Ho M . Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: Dan Horman-Jack Neugebauer-H. M. Welch Absent: George Kaspian-B . R . King, Jr . Also present: Daven Morey The minutes of the regular meeting of March 12, 1959 were presented 4 to each Director and upon motion made and carried were approved as presented. Chamberlain advising the District they were in position to take possession of the Crandall -Cowan property. He advised the Bank of California would notify as to their rental status and the pro -ration could be taken care of . Correspondence was read under date of March 17 th from Paul H. Ch ambe rl ain relative to the deposit of funds in the Bank of California. It was the boards feeling no action should be taken until the new board was installed. It was brought to the boards attention that the present water at the Crandall -Cowan property was being supplied by Van Sickle. It was decided the District would hook onto their own main and give sery ice. Mr. Desmond Lambert, of the Sierra Nevada Realty, appeared with Mr. Butler. They were interested in the Crandall -Cowan property. The board asked them to appear again on the 9th of April with more definite plans for the usage of the land. Correspondence was received under date of March 12th from Sierra Pacific Power Company outlining the service territory in the Truckee area. The board advised Mr. Morey to send it to Paul H. Chamberlain. Minutes March 26, 1959 Continued Mr. Rice appeared before Manager Morey and asked if he could have a piece of property large enough'- to build a house on free and clear from his present indebtedness. It was the boards feeling this would not be a satisfactory arrangement and decided to let Mr, Rice take an option on the $ 2500 , 00 cash bid if he wished. Correspondence was read under date of March 24th from Sotithern Pacific Company notifying the District of the changing of agreement from McGl ashen Water Co. to Truckee Public Utility District, They also advised the rental of property would be $ 210.00 per annum against $5,00 per annum in recent years. The board asked they be written and inquire as to the raise of rent and ask for a copy of new agree- ment. Some discussion was held on Edwin Fleischmann report of the audit of the District. It was ordered sent to Paul H. Chamberlain.
