A proposed letter submitted by
Director Edmunds, addressed
to the
Sierra Pacific Power Company
and a letter which had been sent to the
Sierra Pacific Power Company
on June 11, 1959 were read to
the board.
Discussion was held on the contents
of the letters. Foreman Harden
advised the board he -,felt the
Sierra Pacific Power was not
giving the
District adequate power. He
advised voltage recorders had
been order-
ed and would be installed on
the lines to check voltage.
Director Edmunds arrived at the meeting.
It was moved by Director Russell and second by Director Edmunds the
letter submitted by Director Edmunds be sent to the Sierra Pacifc
Power Company and a copie of both letters be sent to the Public
Utilities Commission*
Chairman King gave a report on his visit to the Plumas Sierra Utility
District, in which he discussed the District's problems and the
possibility of connecting with line at Sus anv it le , with Mr. Hunter the
Manager. He advised it would take three to five years to complete
such a project and permission would have to be obtained from the
Bureau of Reclamation. Some discussion was held on obtaining a
loan from R.E.A. to purchase equipment and pay for line extension.
He advised Mr, Hunter would 1 ike a letter from the District request-
ing power service at the "Susan fte point, also list any difficulties
the District is having, cost of power, total power consumption and the
District's growth in next five to ten years.
It was moved by Director Russell and second by Director Edmunds the
above letter be written to Mr. Hunter requesting power from R.H.A.
and let him work on project.
Discussion was held on developing own source of power through'filing
a power site on the Truckee River at Hirsdale, showing five to ten
year plan with request.
It was moved by Director Russell and second by Director Edmunds a,
filing be made on Truckee River, Hirsdale Location, having Engineer
make filing immediately.
A report was given on obtaining an Engineer for water survey. Two
people had been contacted Richard Kennedy and Randolph Dewante, they
advised they would be glad to meet with the board and discuss the
water plans, It was suggested McQuire & Sons of Nevada City, be con-
tacted and asked to meet with the Board at their next meeting*
Discussion was held on repaying the $ 25 , 000.00 loan at the Bank of
California. It was suggested a letter be written to Bank of California
asking the amount of interest due quarterly.
The board was advised the District was in need of a jeep pickup and a
new line truck. It was suggested a check be made on purchasing the
equipment through surplus. One of the employee's at the' present time
is using his jeep.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Russell the
employee be authorized to continue using his jeep and the District
pay him 10� per mile.
Manager Morey advised the board the District was in need of a car
load of poles,
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Russell the
Manager be authorized to order car load of poles to consist of 45 '
and 5 0 ' .
Discussion was held on purchasing pipe that will be needed before
the price goes up. It was suggested the District should have drawn
up specifications for the installation of water and electric lines.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in a regular meeting at the office of the District on
Main Street, at 8 :10 PM .
Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present:
Edmunds, Horman, King, Russell
Absent: Rose
Also present: Daven Morey, Eve Hallett, Mrs. C. Edmunds, Carlos
McQuire, Harold Harden and E . J. Hintz.
Minutes of the regular meeting of January 12, 1960 were presented to
each Director and upon motion made and carried were approved as
presented.
It was moved by Director Horman and second by Director Edmunds the
bills of January 26, 1960 be paid.
