Motion carried. The Manager asked for Board's feeling of paying weekly., Board had no objection to this change. The Contract by McGuire & Son. Water Engineers, Grass Valley, was presented to each Director for review. Director King stated he would like to have a special meeting to discuss the water contract and finances* A meeting was set for Tuesday, August 2, 1960, at 8 PM. The Manager inquired regarding the District's policy of installing electrical lines within a subdivision and also in regard to another power company installing lines within the District* Board requested Mr. Bell obtain a legal ruling Jdm on the latter* There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. King, Chairman Truckee, California August 2, 196 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in a special meeting at the office of the District on Main Street at 8 PM. Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: Kielhofer, Edmunds, King Also present: Mrs. Edmunds, N. Sassarini, A. Cook. Discussion was held on the contract submitted by McGuire & Son, Grass Valley for Board's approval* Members present expressed dissatisfaction with the way McGuire & Son had handled the whole water matter. Chairman King brought up the matter If the District might be further ahead to submit the report submitted by McGuire & Son to another engineering firm for their opinions and recommendations* Directors Edmunds and Kielhofer agreed. Chairman King inquired regarding the progress of the well authorized at the last regular meeting. Manager stated he had heard nothing from the drilling firm he had contacted. He thought he would write up speci fications and advertise it for bid. The subject of finances was discussed. Director Kielhofer inquired as to what land the District had available. Manager stated he had been studying land within the District. He suggested swapping land in the McGlashan Springs area to the U. S. Forest Service for some land they own in Section 14 which is located near the golf c our s e . 278 Minutes August 2, 1960 Continued The subject of the furniture and fixtures at Hilltop Lodge was brought up. Chairman King stated we bought it for $ 7 00.00 and Mr. Herzog was to purchase it for $1, 000.00 . No record can be found of the $1, 000.00 ever being paid* Manager Bell informed Board we do not have enough pressure or water to supply Olympic Heights. Director Edmunds suggested a tank and pump to supply the few people_ that are there at the present time. Chairman King did not agree. He felt that the situation should be solved on a permanent basis so work would not have to be re -done in a few years* Lengthy discussion was held on the pros and cons of a bond issue. Director Edmunds expressed doubt that one would carry. Chairman King expressed the opinion that he felt people would agree if they knew the facts involved, also that whatever was done should be started immediately. Director Edmunds asked that the Board be given a financial report at each meeting . Manager Bell assured him Board would have report once books were set up and in order. Nick sassarini again inquired regarding the water situation on River Street. Dixmector Horman entered the meeting. Mr. Cook suggested the two large tanks of Southern Pacific Co., which were not being used be utilized as storage for the District. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
