Director Edmunds inquired about the loan and our repayment agreement. Manager informed him he was trying to colsolidate the present loan of $50, 000.00 and the loan of last May of $ 25 , 000.00 into one loano e first item on the agendaa was the Hellar Water Problem. Manager read a letter from the Hell ar' s attorney, Mr . Bch if fner to Mr. Chamberlain dated July 14, 1950. Manager informed Board District had not bothered flow of water and Hellars were still getting same amount of water as before. Director Edmunds suggested we ask a bw field representative of the Water Rights Board to investigate the spring situation and render an opinion. Manager Bell read a letter from Mr. Chamberlain dated July 29, 1950, to the Board. 282 Minutes August 9, 1960 Continued The Manager read a letter from Mr. Chamberlain dated July 290 19600 requesting all information we have available on the. conditions of sale of the land to G . E . Lewis* The Board requested Manager to review the minutes of the previous meetings and our files and send all available information to Attorney Chamberlain. Manager informed Board that District was being sued by a Mrs . Dorrance Brown. Manager read a letter to the Board from Attorney Robert Fugazi., Director Russell stated this .should be turned over to . our insurance company and let them handle it . Chairman King stated he did not think insurance company . should be allowed to settle without consulting with Board. It was moved by Director Edmunds and seconded by Director Russell that the matter be burned over to the insurance company. Motion carried. Manager informed thin Board that Morgan Smith, from the Department of Public Health had called upon him and informed him District was operating without a permit and he wanted a resolution that the system would be improved. . Mr . Walker, Area Sanitarian, suggested that a copy of the feasibility report be sent. to Board of Health and show them what we were contemplating on the water system. Manager informed Board that he had contacted Kennedy Engineers and the well drilling - company regarding proposed well. Manager informed Board well drilers had one well ahead of us before they could start test well. Mr. Bell told Board that he had talked to a Mr .. Burnett who represents a firm that can handle a bond issue from start to finish including publicity, financing and obtaining federal monies where available* Manager stated Mr.,* Burnett had given him a figure of around $6, 000.00 for them to handle a bond issue for the District. Director King suggested that since we had contacted Mr. Chamberlain previously on the bond issuec.we should contact him again before going ahead with another firm. Director Horman agreed. Manager was advised to try and have Mr . Chamberlain at our next meeting. Mr. McKinley informed Board he hadn't done anything regarding power as he would like -to consider underground power. He requested Manager to give him an approximate cost* Mr. McKinley stated he would dig the necessary ditches. Manager stated he would contact Pacific Telephone and get their feeling regarding underground installations . Director Horman brought up the matter of 'serving water to Donner Lake. Director Edmunds stated we would have to buy out system,, Discussion was held on Donner Lake Water Rate hearing with Mr. & Mrs. Trower . Manager informed Board he had set up a meeting with Mr . Lowe of Sierra Pacific Power Company for 2; 00 PM on August 11, 1960. The next item on the agenda was the recommendations of the auditors* Manager Bell stated auditor suggested that erros in billing not be erased but be noted and approved by Board and Manager* Auditors also recommended that same person not collect cash and post it to books. Manager suggested another person be hired as c ash ier . Mintues August 9, 1960 Continued It was moved by Director Edmunds and s6conded by Director Russell that Board approve adjustments to accounts receivable. Motion carried. The next item on the agenda was the Country Club Building* Chairman King suggested we avoid the use of the word "Country Club" when referring- to the golf course as there is already too much resentment against golf course. Manager informed Board something should be done as there is going to have to be some facilities for handling the public when the course is opened. Discussion was held on feasibility of leasing building and facilities. Lengthy discussion was held as to what type of club house to construct and ways to finance it. Suggestion was made by Director Russell that memberships or season tickets be sold beforehand and could be used to construct building. Director Russell expressed the opinion that course should be opened so it could start carrying some of it's awn expenses. Chairman King objected to opening the golf course this year. Discussion was held on greenskeeper' s management of golf course. Manager Bell expressed dissatisfaction of the handling of the equipment and the shape some of the new equipment is in . Director Russell stated the grass on our golf course is better than any course in the vacinity and the greenskeeper should be given a "pat on the back" for that but he did agree with the Manager on the state of the equipment. Director Russell stated greenskeeper from Washoe Golf Course would be at the golf course on August 10, 1960, at 7; 30 AM. Director Russell invited everyone interested to be present. Manager was instructed to look into buildings for -golf course* Lengthy discussion was held on fees for golf course. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Cook, Mrs. Edmunds, Mr. Chamberlain, Mr. Shaw, R. Benge, H. Harden, E . Hallett, B . Kielhofer, Mr . & Mrs, Clarence 4sburn, R. Walker, Nick Sassarini, Jack Ellis, T. Dolley. The meeting was called to order by Director Edmunds in the absence of Chairman King.
