January 31, 1961
The Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in
a regular meeting at the office of the District on Main Street at
8:20 PM.
Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: Edmunds
Horman,, Kielhofer.. King and Russell
Also present: Ed Holtz, Dave Vieu, Tom Hoffman, Bud Fulcher, Eve Hallett,
Robert McKinnon, Jack Ellis,, MrS C . R . Carroll, Mrs. Edmunds, Harry
Stout.
It was moved by Director Edmund and second by Director Kielhofer the
minutes be read aloud.
Chairman King requested extra copies of minutes be made for distribution.
He then read the minutes of January 10, 1961.
Some discussion was held on the George Erskine bill of $ 235 , 51. The
board was advised it was for a survey for a financial backing of a
club house at the golf. course.
Mr, Hoffman requested the minutes be corrected to read: The board
advised the decision on the blanket fire policy be held over until
Director Russell is present to pass on same.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Kielhofer the
minutes of the meeting of January 10, 1961, be accepted with the above
noted correction. Motion carried.
Discussion was held on bills presented to them for Wilbur Bell.
It was moved by Director Horman and second by Director Edmunds all
bills be forwarded to Mr. Bell for payment except Texaco Company bill,,
return to Company advising a stop had been put on credit card and would
appreciate them collecting from Mr. Bell. Motion carried.
The . fol lowing bills were gone over and discussed. Meyer Drilling Co, -
$3, 236.53 . The contract called for a well to be dug 500 feet deep with
a 14" hole, The board felt the total bill excessive.
It was moved by Director Horman and second by Director Edmunds the
contract and copy of bill be sent to Paul Chamberlain for his advice
as to legality of the District refusing payment for all work done over and
above contract agreement and up to what amount the District is 1 ible .
It was so carried.
Nevada Tank and Casing - $3 , 362.88 It was moved by Director Russell and
second by Director H rman a letter be written to Nevada Tank and Casing
advising the District was short of funds and an extension would be
appreciated* It was so carried.

Preston Wright - $300.00 It was brought to the boards attention the
type of pipe he has th District can not use and it was felt he would be
using it in his other two developments.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Kielhofer Mr.
Wr ights bill be tabled, It was so carried.
Sierra Pacific Power - $6, 782.93 . It was moved by Director Edmunds and
second by Director Horman the Sierra Pacific Power bill be held for
later payment, It was so carried.
It was moved by Director Russell and second by Director Kielhofer all bills
be paid except Sierra Pacific Power,$6,782.93, Meyer Drilling Company,
$3, 236,53, Nevada Tank and Casing, $3, 362.88, Preston Wright, $300,00.
It was so carried.

Robert McKinnon appeared before the board he advised that at the time
of the recent personnel trouble he was layed off by the foreman and did
not quit, he would like the records to be corrected to correspond with
the above. Bud Fulcher advised the board he was in need of a lineman
and had contacted Henry Redford who will let him know in a couple of
weeks. The board advised he should do what is necessary to obtain a
1 ineman .
It was moved by Director Kielhofer and second by Director Russell the
records be corrected to read Robert McKinnon was 1 ayed off. It was so
carried.
Correspondence was read under date of January 18th, from Breen, Folsom,
McDonald and Young, Attorneys at Law. They advised James Harris, Jr.
had filed a claim through them for 153 hours of overtime, rendered
from November 1, 1960 to January 2. 1961. They wished to know the plans
of the District on the paying of the above noted claim.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Russell the
above read letter be sent to Paul Chamberlain advising James Harris
was put on a,_ -monthly salary at this time and was sub j ec to call 7 days
a week, 24 hrs. a day and the District would like to know to what extent
*-"* he could go to collect the overtime claimed. It was so carried.
Correspondence was read under date of January 17th, from Tahoe Title
Company, advising they were enclosing a check in the amount of $15 , 000 .
to cover the release of five acres of land from Deed of Trust as per
request of G . E . Lewis .
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Russell the
$15 , 000 , 00 received from the Tahoe Title Company be put in a Savings
account, Bank of America, Truckee and held for disposition. It was so
carried.
Correspondence was read under date of December 29th from Southern
Pacific Company relative to a rate on lease dated November 9, 1960,
for water pipe lines on Southern Pacific Company right of way at Truckee.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Russell the
SouthemPacif is Company be advised the District no longer has use for
crossing at Tollefsons applied kr May 23, 1958, and consider the
request void, It was so carried.
Contact Agreement between the Pacific Tel & Tel Co, and Truckee PUD was
presented to the board for signature.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Russell signature
of same be authorized. It was so carried.
Mrs. C . R . Carroll appeared before the board she advised two men, repre-
senting the District, had come to her home to check appliances for HC2
rate. In checking they noticed she had an electric stove but not an
electric hot water heater and this would put her on a different. rate .
She advised they had a large heating unit which was run by electricity
and should make them elegible for the cheaper rate. Director Edmunds
explained the HC2 and HC1 rate to Mrs. Carroll and apologized for the
inconvenience caused her.

Jack Ellis appeared before the board he felt his current electric bill
quite excessive, He was advised his meter was checked and reading was
correct. He advised he had an old abandoned well on his property and
advised . he would be willing to let the District use it if they needed
the water. The board advised it would have to be checked as to purity
before District could consider.
A chart was presented to the board of a voltage check made at the
William Gautsche residence, which was made because of a low voltage
complaint. The reading was taken on the outside of the house showing
the voltage to be OK. Director Edmunds advised a check should be made
on the inside and outside so an answer could be arrived as to the
reason for the low voltage complaint,
Burney Lumber Company bill for December was presented to the board.
Mr. Topel advised he thought the demand was high and he would like
an adjustment on same. The board felt a further study should be
made and Mr. Topel be advised to pay the bill and if an a j ustment was
found to be warranted he would receive a credit on his next bill.
Mr, Hoffman of the Tahoe Truckee Agency appeared before the board
relative to the blanket fire policy to cover warehouse inventory
and pump house equipment. Director Edmunds advised he felt the
inventory in the warehouse should be cut to a safe margin it was
felt Reno houses could supply needed materials on a short notice.
It was moved by Director Russell and second by Director Kielhofer
the District accept the proposed blanket fire policy. It was so
carried.
Mr. Hoffman advised James Harris pickup was not covered for •damage .
Only public liability coverage would pertain to private vechicles
of the District.
The board was advised the $1000.00 bill sent to Harry Herzog for
personal property obtained at the time of purchase of the Crandall
property .had not been paid, The Board advised a letter be written
to Mr. Herzog requesting payment of same.
The Board advised Bud Fulcher be asked to continue the checking of the
HC2 rates. Director Edmunds will go over the reulations with him.
Director Edmunds presented the board with a letter from C. B. White,
advising the board of his resignation as Auditor of the District to
be effective January 1, 1961.
It was moved by Director Edmunds and second by Director Kielhofer the
above resignation be accepted with the Districts deepest regrets. It
was so carried.
Correspondence was read under date of January 27, 1961 from Preston L .
Wright relative to the approval of pipe lines in Units II and III of
the Olympic Heights Subdivision, In looking at the map of the proposed
lines they were found to be not acceptable. --.�
It was moved by Director Russell and second by Director Kielhofer the
map be tabled until next meeting. s
It was felt that due to the importance of passing on specifications ,
for Olympic Heights and the need for Rules & Regulations for Electric
and Water to pertain to Subdivisions a spec ial meeting should be held
on February 7, 1961 to go over same.
Correspondence was read under date of January 5, from Paul H. Cham-
berlain relative to filing of protest on Water Apllications 19539-
Hel 1 ar and 19485-Van Sickle. It was the feeling of the board the
above noted were applying for springs on thier own property.
