Cecil Edmunds, Chairman Patsy Toni.ni, Acting Recording Sec' y Truckee, California February 26, 1963 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in a regular meeting at the office of the District on Main Street, at 7:00 PM. Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: C . Edmunds,, J . McIver,, E . Aweeka, D . Horman P . H. Greenhouse arrived at 7 : 55 . Alsp present: F .Longo, P .Tonini, P .VanVl iet Mrs. Cecil Edmunds The minutes of February 12, 1963 were read and approved. The following statement of bank balances, bills paid and due were presented to the board for approval. Miller 1,000.00 $ 1,770.79 It was moved by Director McIver and second by Director Aweeka the water bills be paid with the exception of Nevada Aerial Surveys and George E . Miller. It was so carried, Manager Longo read resolution #6303 in acceptance of grant deed to 100,000 sq. ft . of land from Donner Trails Subdivision The board requested the matter be postponed until next meeting. Correspondence was read under date of February 19, 1963 from U. S. Department of Agriculture REA addressed to attorney McDonough covering collateral requirements which require either legislation or a bond issue to qualify this District for REA participation. Correspondence was read under date of February 25, 1963 directed to Gerald F . Diddle, Director Western area REA from attorney McDonough with advise covering possible solution to collateral question. Correspondence was read under date of February 28, 1963 addressed to Paul J. Lunardi, assemblyman from attorney McDonough concerning en- actment of possible legislation ammend ing PUD act to provide for REA participation by this District. Section 12844 of the MUD act was quoted by McDonough as possible legislation to provide for the solution of this Districts problem. Chairman Edmunds suggested Manager contact Albert Wade of the Shasta Dam area PUD , soliciting support of proposed legislation, Manager Longo advised the contract for fuel oil with the Richfield Oil Company had been ammended to provide for reduction of discount allowed cutting the percentage from 23��: to 24.4 per gallon, He advised this contract would expire in June of 63. It was moved by Director McIver and second by Director Horman the contract adjustment with Richfield Oil Company be accepted with the modification, It was so carried. Manager Longo advised Congressman Bizz Johnson successfully acquired an emergency grant in the amount of $200,000 to cover emergency flood damage repairs in five county ` s . Manager Longo requested the boards approval to attend CMUA convention in Sacramento the 27th, 28th of February and 1st of March. It was moved by Director McIver and second by Director Aweeka permission be granted with a submittal of expenses at a later meeting. It was so carried* Minutes February 26, 1963 Continued Water and Electric budget was submitted to the board with discussion held on same, Unf inished Business Hilltop Lodge - No Report Fred Morris - No Report HHFA - Awaiting legal opinion from Attorney Berliner* Deed- Saunders Property -Highway maps do not show boundaries of area. When this District desires to locate sub station further surveying will be required. Saunders has agreed to accept $ 3 , 000.00 for this 1 and . Chairman Edmunds asked if time extension, for installation of pipe line across freeway , had been received. Manager reported time extension had been received extending period to June 1, 1963. Manager reported on McKinleys agreement to make payments on his delinquent account. Manager Longo advised he had received a letter from the Better Business Bureau of Northern Nevada concerning the Black matter. He further advised charts had been made of voltage and meter readings checked. Chairman Edmunds asked if any applications had been received for the position of Bookkeeper. Manager Longo advised two applicants are being considered at this time. Chairman Edmunds expressed his concern over the District operating without a Treasurer and the proper bonding. It was moved by Director McIver and second by Director Aweeka Patsy Tonini be appointed Treasurer until such time a replacement can be obtained with bonds provided. It was so carried . Manager Longo advised Butch Beavers will take care of the survey charge of $175.00 billed to the District by Bill Grim of the Nevada Aerial Survey, Chairman Edmunds asked if a log had been -obtained on the Jerry Lewis well. Manager Longo advised the records of Jerry Lewis had been destroyed and he had no knowledge of who drilled the well. Chairman Edmunds asked what was being done on the Phiefer connection. Manager Longo advised Attorney Berliner has been notified and he was awaiting his considered opinion. Chairman Edmunds inquired as to the present standing on the jeep and Pickup ordered through Civil Defense. Manager Longo advised he had talked with Mr. Weeks in his office last week and should be hearing within a matter of days. Manager Longo advised the County is taking water samples again. v Manager Longo advised the representative of Fairbanks Morse will meet - with the board upon the boards request. n There being no further business to bring before the board the meeting was a j ounned at 9 :10 PM .
