Director Kaspian also wanted to know if there had bean any change in law since 1948, McDonough advised there had been no change in status, P .G .& :. wheels power to certain Public Agencies on limited basis, Martin McDonough stated in a meeting *ith Harry Reising possibility of a G & T loan was mention if REA were to make availbble loan, A transmission line could be constructed enabling the District to operate it's own trans in cAon facilities, however under present load conditions feasibility would be doubtful. Attorney McDonough suggested the first stp is to get a hearing with PUC' hire an engineer who has practiced before PUC. The members of the Public Utility Commission are George Grover, Peter Mitchell, Fred Holaboff, Everett McKage and William Bennett. McDonough reported the present commission is inclined to be sympathic with small utilities. Cost of hearing with PUC for ten days would be approximately $5, 000.00 to $6,000.00, This does not include any extra costs such as lawyer, engineer, transcript. Mr. McDonough advised the Board he would submit an estimated cost, the name of a qualified engineer and various problems involved at the next meeting of the Board. Director Kaspian asked if the District had a chance and would it be worth the time and money. McDonough felt the District had a 50/50 chance and would be worth the time and money. The Board wanted to know how long it would be before they could go before PUC., McDonough advised after petition is presented to PUC the hearing would be five months after the fit Bing of edition. McDonough acid he would be hard pressed but it could be done. Director Kaspian fedt the district has a good case and would like to try. Manager Longo advised the District was negotiating with Sieraa Pacific constantly. Sierra Pacific would probably take a closer look at the District after filing of such a petition. Before Mr. McDonough left the meeting he advised the board he had worked with several engineers' and has Hal Heidrich in mind. The Board thanked Mr .McDonough for attending the meeting and he departed at 8:40 P.M. Manager Longo reported he had inquiries regarding power to Prosser Lake Heights . Longo advised the B* rd it would be August before the District could service Prosser Lake Heights4, Managers Report: Manager and President Aweeka attended a meeting at Dept,, of Water Resourses, Monday June 10, 1963. Manager reported the minimum cost of a reconnaisance survey would be $20,000.00, for a complete study $60, 000.00 . The Dept. of Water Resources does not finance a complete survey and the District would have to" Oyu of the cost of survey. Manager Longo advised water resources the District did not have the money to finance the survey. On the same day at a meeting with the Bureau of Reclaimation supply storage of 50,000 acre ft, capacity at Stampede to be constructed at Minutes June 11, 1963 continued Californias a ense was discussed. There will be five counties participating, X & I water will cost $10.00 per acre ft. Irrigation will cost $1.55 per acre ft . There will be - a meeting June 24th, at which time various counties will be represented. Charleg Clements appeared before the Board representing the Truckee Donner Horsemans Association. Mr. Clements requested permission to hang flags before June 29th , There being no objections from the Board, Manager Longo was instructed to see this was done, The discussion of extended water mains to' the new county ' building from Z Market was tabled and Manager Longo was requested to ask Mr. Henry Lohr to attend a meeting of the Board. Manager was advised to call for bid on Fuel and Oil. Unfinished: H.H.F*A - No Report Service to Pfeifer Motel: Attorney Berliner is preparing necessary material to take to court, also Fred Morris. Diaaster Application: Mr. Roberts of Army Engineer was in this area last week to look over flood damage Eve Popovich-Donner Trails Unit ##2: Mrs. Popovich will talk to Roland Bliss e Manager advised Mrs, Popovich does not chose or care to exchange* There being no further business to be brought before the board the meetingwas adjourned at 9: as P.M.
