The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in a regular meeting ,at the office of the District on
t
Main Street, at 7:00 P.M.
Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present.
Aweeka, McIver, Kaspian, Spillner
Absent: Greenhouse
Also present: F. Longo, M. Midyett Guests: Paul VanVliet
The minutes of June 11, 1963 were read and approved.
The minutes of June 14, 1963, Special Meeting, were read and approved.
Director Kaspian requested the pages in the Director's Minute Book
be number: Manager advised this would be done.
The following statements of bank balances, bills paid and due were
presented to the board for approval.

It was moved by Director Kaspian and second by Director McIver the
water bills be paid as listed. It was so carried.
Manager's Report:
Manager Longo presented a copy of a letter to each Director from
Mr. Martin McDonough giving an estimate of the cost of a proceeding
before the P.U.C. Director Kaspian felt the Board should go before
the Governor before the District acted on the letter. Manager
advised he wanted to get rates before going to the Governor. Manager
read letter from Mr. Norman E . Woodbury, Executive Director of the
California Municipal Utilities Association, Dated June 21, 1963.
,Mr. Woodbury advised he had limited information requested, but had
written to each one of the cities and co-ops in the northern part
of the State. Manager also read letter to Glenn A. Baxter, General
Manager, Bureau of Electricity, Alameda, Calif. Dated June 21, 1963,
from Mr . Woodbury requesting information be sent direct to Manager
Longo. Manager Longo advised Board Attorney Harold Berliner would be
in Truckee, Friday, June 28, 1963, at which time he would find out
when the Board would go before the Governor.
Manager read letter from Paul Lunardi, Assemblyman, dated June 21, 1963
stating he would like to meet with the Board to see how he may be able
to assist the District in wheeling power.

Director Kaspian advised Board a member of the Board of Directors
from S.T.P.U.D, had advised him that some government source had
approached S .T.P.U.D . for power. Director Kaspian requested manager
to contact Mr. Priday in regards to this matter. Manager advised
Bureau power would be available in 1968 , 10,1000 K.W. , 26 line miles
from Statel ine . Director Kaspian asked why T . P . U .D . was not approached
and was adv i ed the District was too far away from the proposed plant
for cons iderat ion .
Concerning Stampede Dam & Reservoir, Manager advised El Dorado
and Sierra Counties have dropped out, leaving only Placer and
Nevada County. The State Department of Water Resources has to
find out how much each county, I?l acer and Nevada, can afford,.
Regarding Insurance Evaluation - Manager reported Mr. Carvith from
Auburn would meet with him and discuss.
Manager read letter from Geo . E . Miller dated June 21, 1963 in
regards to the water line crossing. Work on the line will start
shortly after the first of July, therefore will probably have to get
another extension from Division of Highways. Manager advised there
has been an increase of price on pipe in the amount of $21.00 to
$22.00.
Letter from Bizz Johnson, June 20, 1963 read. Mr. Johhson advised
he had contacted Mr. Diddle of REA and urged his early approval of
the District application for loan.
Letter from Herbert Blinder, June 20, 1963 read. Mr. Blinder
advised REA loan application would probably clear the Western Area
Director's Office in about five days. If nothing unexpected
happens the loan should be sent up for the Administrator's final
review and signature in about two weeks.

Timber: Advertise in paper for bids. Tops must be loped. Manager
advised to send letter to Topol Lumber Co . , Spaulding,,. Tahoe Timber
Feather River Lumber Co . , Bob Jones.
It was moved by Director McIver and second by Director Spillner
Ordinance #63-02 be adopted in regards to extensions of water mains
and or distribution of lines to serve tracts, lots, areas or other un-
defined parcels of 1 and . Manager was instructed to contact attorney
and prepare a draft of the ordinance,

Regarding the 450,000 gallon tanks,, the Navy has not declared tanks
surplus as yet. The Secretary of Navy, Los Angeles, Navy Supply Depot
would be the one to contact regarding this matter.
There being no further business to be brought before the Board the
meeting was adjourned at 8 : 2 3 P . M.
