March 10, 1964
The members of - the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility
District met in a regular meeting at the office of the District on
Main Street, at 7:00 P.M.
Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present
Aweeka, McIver, Kaspian, Firpo
Absent: Spillner
Alto present: Midyett
The minutes of February 25, 1964 were read and approved subject to
the following correction. --Mr* Wm. Knapp appeared before the board
and advised the availability of two backhoes, each C $14.00 per
hour
The following statements of bank balances, bills paid and due were
presented to the - board for approval.

It was moved by Director McIver and seconded by Director Fir- . the
water bills paid and bills _for approval be paid as listed. So .carried.

The Manager's report was submitted and read by Chairman Aweeka-.
Director Kaspian advised the Board that he has a luncheon engagement ._..,
with Mr. Fletcher. President of Sierra Pacific Power Co. on January
31st at the Mapes* Director Kaspian presented the Board with a.
purchase proposal from Siexra Pacific in the amount of One Million
Dollars. This proposal to -include both the Water and Electric _
Systems., Director Kaspian _pointed ou the benefits to the District
if sold. Director Kaspian . stated the District would be selling to
a sound company and they .could do more for the community . _ Hid

thought was that if the million dollars was put in trust for a
period of 25 years the interest only would amount to $750,000.00,
He also stated that the District would not have to dissolve but
could still operate as Truckee Public Utility and there many fields
they could go into such as Recreation and Real Estate,
Chairman Aweeka brought up incorporation , If Truckee was incorporated
would the one million dollars be turned over to the town. Chairman
Aweeka was advised that once the Board set up the conditions in

trust they cannot be broken, Y
Director Firpo felt that the vote should be brought before the
people.
Director Aweeka stated it was is good offer but should be voted on
by the people. Stated he would resign if he had to make a decision.
Director Firpo made a motion that the purchase proposal be published
in the paper. There being no second the motion was retracted.

Director Firpo suggest the matter be talbed and have Attorney
Wethera3l come to the next meeting .
Director McIver suggested the proposal be sent to Attorney Weth erall
for consideration.

It was moved by Director Kaspian and seconded by Director McIver that
two members of the Board be appointed to make an appointment with
Attorney Wetheral l for advise on the proposal, So carried,
Director McIver and Director Firpo were appointed.
Ingegards to the collections of bills Director Firpo felt that if
the customers did not pay their bills they should be cut off and
they should come to Board meeting and present their complaint.
There being no further business to be brought before the Board the
meeting was. adj oi}rned at 8:45 P.M.
