March 20, 1964
Due notice having been posted a Special Meeting of the ' Board of
Directors was held at the office of the District on Main Street
March 20, 1964 - at 2:00 P.M.
Directors noted present: Aweeka, McIver,, Spillner
Absent: Kaspian, Firpo
Also present: F. Longo, M. Midyett • Guest: Mrs. Evelyn McQuary
Resolution 6403 was presented to the -Board for adoption, it was - -
moved by Director McIver and seconded by Director Spillner -
Resolution 6403,Purchase of the Ponderosa Golf Course, be adopted.
Roll call vote: Ayes: Aweeka, McIver, Spillner -Noes: None
Absent:. Kaspian, Firpo - -
So carried.
Manager read letter from I.B.E.W. Local Union #1245 dated March 18th,
requesting representatives from the Board to meet with one of their
representatives* Manager advised he had replied to -the -letter and
had sent Mr. Weakley' s letter to -Attorney Wetherall for consideration,
Director McIver and Director r agreed to meet with Union
representatives .`�`
Regarding a committee of two to make a report on Sierra Pacific,
Director McIver.- and. Director Spillner agreed to get a detailed,
account of the purchase proposal from Sierra Pacific*
Manager requested authorization to - engage Harker & Harker for reha�-
bil itation work from the Gateway Motel to the Schools a distance
of eight tenths of a mile : Harker quoted- $ 3 , 68 0.00 total 1 abor 4 -
Twenty-two hours of digging and setting -poles would cost $18.50 per
hour; Material -will cost around $4; 000.00 -which the district has
in inventory at present.
Manager advised the project would cost -around $12, 000.00. None of
the money will come out of REA. REA allows only $13,000.00 for
rehabilitation and manager stated he would like to use this for
transformers*
Manager stated the work would be all rubber glove and would take.
about six weeks to ,,complete and the District would haave to hire
another lineman. Director Spillner felt that the District had more
time than money at present and felt the electric crew should do the
rehabilitation work even though it would take longer* Manager advised
he would not guarantee the work would be completed in six weeks..
Director Spillner wanted to know what the electric ,crew. was going
to do when the Gateway area project was completed* Manager advised
there was more rehabilitation work to be done* Spillner asked if
Harker would be called in again and manager advised yes- -if the moo":
District's crew was not big enough to handle the job.
It was moved by Director McIver and seconded by Director Spillner
that Manager Longo be given authorization to engage Harker & Harker
for rehabilitation work from the Gateway Motel to the School, a
distance of eight tenths of a mile* So carried.
