HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-05-05 Min - BoardTruckee, California May 5 , 1964 Due notice having been posted a Special Meeting was held at the office of the District on Main Street, May 5 , 1964 at 7 : 00 P.M* Discussion ensued regarding the Eve Popovich matter. It was agreed that the matter should be disucssed and determined at the next regular meeting of the board. Director Firpo stated that he felt that when a quorum was present all matters of agenda should be taken care of instead of waiting for a full board to be present, The board agreed with Mr, Firpo . Discussion ensued concerning the water system, water rates and - Sierra Pacific. The following statements of bank balances, bills paid and due -were - presented to the board for approval. So carried, Manager requested authorization to hire Harry M, Straine & Sons to make the annual audit and reorganize the electric accounts to conform to REA S t and and s . It was moved by Director Spillner and seconded by Director Firpo Harry M, Straine & Sons be hired to make the annual audit and re- organize the electric accounts. So carried, Dusk to Dawn Lighting: Moved by Director Firpo and seconded by Director Spillner, manager be instructed to obtain dusk to dawn fixtures in the amount of $46.47 each. The user must contract for a four year period and manager was instructed to obtain such contracts from users, So carried, Sub -Station: Manager reported he brad the Deed on sub --station site from Orl an •Sanders . Manager stated he had paid Mr. Tong $15 0 , 00 for quit -- claim deed and $40.00 will be paid in March of 1965 to tekminate the lease on the billboards, Manager requested authorization to put 4 $3,000.00 in Escrow for purchase of land. The $3,000.00 to be paid out of the "water department, Moved by Director Spillner and seconded by Director Firpo, $3000w00 be put in Escrow for purchase of land from Orlan Sanders, So carried. Ordinance 64--02: Postponed at the request of Director Spillner until the next regular meeting. CMUA Proposal: Manager reported CMUA has offered tl.r assistance to the District inregards to S ierra Pacif ic' s Purchase Proposal, Manager read Resolution 6408 requesting Assistance from CMUA. It was moved by Director Firpo and seconded by Director Spillner Resolution 6408 be adopted. Roll call vote: AYES: Aweeka, Firpo, Spillner NOES: None ABSENT: McIver, Kaspian Attorney McDonough's Proposal: Manager advised he would need a resolution giving McDonough authorization to start procedings for hearing with PUC, Discussion ensued regarding the reduction of rates if the District was able to obtain wheeling power. Director Firpo felt Sierra Pacific's proposal should be put to a vote by the people before giving McDonough autkbrization. Manager stated he would advise 1 McDonough no action had been taken at this time. Manager requested the board give consideration to two proposals to be presented to the voters in a referendum and a determination in what area the one million doll aria would be used. 1-72 Minutes May S, - 1964 Continued Discussion ensued regarding Shepherders Spring, So. Budget for 1964-1965 was presented to the Board for consideration:- - It was moved by Director Firpo and seconded by Director Spillner - Budget for 1964-1965 be adopted. So carried. - Budget b1963-1964: • Manager • roquested permission to transfer money from areas that were high to areas that showed deficites . Moved by Director Spillner and seconded by Director Firpo, manager be given authorization to transfer money - in the 196 3 -1964 budget, So carried.
