California July 14, 1964 The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Public Utility District met in a reglar meeting at the office of the District on Main Street, at 7:00 P.M. Upon roll call vote the following Directors were noted present: Aweeka, McIver, Firpo Absent: Spillner,. Kaspian Also present: Longo, Midyett Guests: Martin McDonough, David Vieu Mrs,a Martin McDonough, August Sassarini, Tim Best, Manley Haltom, Geo. Cattan Attorney McDonough appeared before the Board and read resolution from REA providing for the issuance ofi $367 , 000 principal amount of bonds of Truckee Public Utility District; Prescribing the date and fora of said bonds; Prescribing the interest rate and the maturities thereof and the sale thereof to United States of America; Authorizing the execution of said bonds; Providing for the levy of taxes for the payment thereof; and providing for the pledging of revenues to secure such payment, The Board asked McDonough what the delay was in receiving the bond resolution. McDonough stated he thought the dekAy was do to the substitute of attorneys and the unusual nature of the bonds. Director Firpo stated the bond resolution should have been presented to the board before starting any work. Director McIver stated he would not sign unless a full board was present. Director Firpo suggested a special meeting be called to take care of the matter. Chairman Aweeka advised no decision would be made at this time and a special meeting would be called. Chairman Aweeka thanked Mr. McDonough for attending the meeting and advised it would not be necessary for him to be present at the special meeting. David View appeared before the board and stated his purpose at the meeting was to try and get his job back. Director McIver asked Mr. Vieu if he expected the District to fire a man to re -hire him. Mr. Vieu stated it was his understanding that he was to get his- job back after recovery of his back injury. Manager stated he was not hiring at present, but would re-employ Mr. Vieu if the board so instructed him to do so, Director McIver advised the district wanted men who could use a pick and shovel. Mr. Vieu stated there were a number of things he could do which would not require a lot of heavy work. Mr. Vieu advised he was to receive a letter from his attorney along with a complete release from his doctor. Director Firpo suggested Mr. Vieu wait until he had received the letter, then bring bring it to the board meeting. Chairman Aweeka told Mr. Vieu the board was not giving him the run around, that the matter would be taken up at the special meeting. Mr. August Sassarini appeared before the board and asked something be done with his electric meter. Mr, Sassarini asked if you had to have a name to get something done. He stated he new of six service that did not have electric meters . The Board asked the names and NJ 1 Minutes July L4, 1964 Continued Mr.._ Sassarini stated he did not wish to give out any names at this time. Mr. Sassarini asked how you get on a flat water rate. Manager advised he knew of only- 18 or 20 on the Tonini System who Were on a f 1 at rate. The board advised they did not know there were customers on flat water rates. Manager advised Mr. Sassarini his .powert meter would be removed and sent to ,the Bureau - of Zlectric ity in Alameda to be -tested and a check would be made on his water meter . Mr . Sassarini stated he wanted to see the certificate of inspection on the meter. Tim Best entered the discussion and asked if he would be satisfied with a new meter. Mr. Sassarini stated he would. It was moved by Director Firpo and seconded by Director McIver that customers not on an electric or a water meter be put on one. So -carrded. Tien -Best, . electric and water foreman, requested additional help inn- the electric department. It was moved by Director Firpo and seconded by Director McIver that Tim Best be given authorization to hire the required men until he saws -fit to . let them go. So carried. The minutes of June 30, 1964 were read and approved. The following statement of bank balances, bills paid and bills due were presented to the board- for approval. So carried, _ Water at Golf Course: Manager reported Alex Stewart would trench over to the overflow and wanted_ the Distric to loan him the pipe. The Board did not like the. matter of loaning_ the pipe and Direftfor Firpo suggested the district sell the pipe at cost. Manager stated
